You don’t think more people are interested in a relegation game than a dead rubber?

Thats what the evidence tells us.

Attendances and viewing figures for relegation games are mediocre. Attendances and viewing figures leading up to them are largely terrible.

That doesn't suit his argument Eddie, so his answer is obviously a resounding NO, people will be clamouring to get into grounds for meaningless games, never mind though the top 4 clubs will be in competition with each other on TV every week for 4 months, riveting.

Again not many people attend some SL clubs grounds, are they also worthless, your argument says they are.

No it doesnt.

It should be made clear that i havent called any club worthless. Yet on this thread we have seen the defenders of the grass-roots, The real rugby league fans. The true rugby league fans, the Championship super fans now disparage Batley and call Super League clubs worthless...

Who's calling SL clubs worthless?

But you think they’d be higher, or the same level, if there wasn’t relegation at stake?

I imagine Huddersfield will be sold out for their end of season clash with Hull KR to see who finishes 10th.

Exactly so, where would the Swintons, Rochdale's, Whitehaven's Oldham's etc be without the ambitios clubs?

They would be absolutely nowhere Harry, these clubs need to snap out of it and start producing the goods on and off the field.

We know thats the case.

We know what a none-relegation game gets, we know what a 'relegation fight' games gets. We can compare the two and see if there is a significant change.

What you also have to remember is the many seasons we dont have any 'relegation fight' games and teams just drift off to relegation with barely a whimper and ever decreasing crowds.

But as an example, last year, everything was set up perfectly. Wakefield v London, likelihood was winner stays up, loser goes down, a relegation play-off. Not contrived but an organically created car crash game with everything on the line. All perfectly set up. SL average attendance 8408, Wakefields average attendance in 2019, 5753. Down 238. Wakefields attendance in the final game of the season v london winner takes all super match. 6.2k.

Bradfords ' success ' of the early 00s was financed by money earmarked to update/maintain Odsal , the fans following that success came in numbers boosted by unsustainable cheap ticket offers

Anybody who thinks they are currently SL ready ( not suggesting the Bulls fans on here are , more the ' powers that be ' ) is dreaming or smoking funny cigs

I didn't call them worthless, I suggested your comments rendered them so.

Except they don't. My comments literally applied to no clubs. It wasnt a reference to clubs.

The only person to refer to clubs being worthless was you, and only you.

So that crowd was higher than their average, and with much fewer away fans than against heartland clubs. So it’s not proving your point is it?

Main reason there are not many London fans and hardly any of those travel.
