Time for Greenwood to go?

Lee's last 5 games of "traditional" rugby league resulted in 4 victories and 1 defeat

Playing 9's with 13 players as not suited "traditional coaches" too well just ask

Lee Greenwood

James Ford

Adrian Lam

Simon Finnigan

Chris Chester

Ian Watson

Matt Diskin

Stuart Littler

I refuse to judge any current coach under covid restrictions

6 again bollo... X

No scrums

Pick where you play the ball

Ball steals

It's a balderdash game and murdering rugby league....

Get back to the normal game because if this imposter of the game we love carry's on it will bring the death of rugby league for sure🤔🤔

You may be right Coolie but every other coach has had to contend with these self same circumstances.

I am concerned by the complete lack of a team style, non-existent backing up, not moving as a unit etc. Newcastle were far, far better than us simply by playing the basics - run with the ball, pass along the line and back up. When we actually had any coherent attacks we actually scored with some ease, but we had so very few of those.

The other side of the coin is that we have lost a significant number of players to injury and Covid all at the same time. However the shambolic team shape, structure and non-existent systems seem to indicate that very little coaching is actually going on at the moment.

Other than those players who are currently contracted for 2022 (assuming that we remain in this division) I can't see many of the current crop being in a hurry to sign new contracts for next year.

Been watching the game 25+ years and I can’t ever remember been so disheartened about the state of the club and the game in general. Not sure all the blame is at Lee Greenwood’s door though.

The only way is up!

It is

Get the season over

Can't come soon enough

Is it really going to be any better next season?

There is no one watching the club anymore. Our ageing supporter base are all dying off and there are no new supporters coming through.

This is just how I feel!!  Raw emotion .. I will probably delete this post in the morning!! ...

I have no inside information .. I don't really know what's going on!! I just see what I saw!! .. I speculate!! .. Something is very wrong!! .. Has there been a fall out? ... the difference between the togetherness at the Widnes game ... the full on effort at Fev last week even in defeat!! .. and the abject capitulation today ... something has happened ... What??? .... I have no idea!! .. but as I said .. I speculate... it looks like some of the senior players and the coach might be on different pages ... what other possible explanation can there be for what, for me, was the worst performance of the season ... In my opinion the team were not a team today!! .. the other possibility might be whilst other teams are announcing contracts for next season .. we are not!! ... Is it ambition ..is it apathy.. is it leadership and motivation... or is it a lack of vision and direction???  I will be there next week and the week after .. but many others will not! ... I really, really care!!!  ...    I have supported this team since 1964 through good and bad  .. all I expect is 100% effort .. I did not see that today!!

I can understand fans flustrations

Mark has never announced before the end of the season who has signed.. This is his way, right or wrong I don't know.

When we see other clubs announcing signing our players I can understand the bewilderment of fans of "why"

I'd suggest the club needs regular lifts and announcements about signings would be a good way of doing this, we need a lift before the end of the season so we can enter the Christmas period feeling a bit of a high enabling the Christmas Market of selling season tickets & merchandise, if we continue to sleepwalk into these valuable marketing periods we're never going to get off the floor, yes everything is up in the air regarding funding and we understand that... But a big announcement of a player could change the mood, fans are down in the dumps and after that today every fan is as deflated as a blow up doll with a broken valve 🤔and all feeling just as useless🤔

More and more faces are missing which is worrying, bigger gaps on the southstand, we're getting championship 1 crowds with national league performances

It hurts, it hurts every single fan

And so it should 😢

I just want a performance to be proud of to prove there is some passion in wearing the shirt

And also a really good performance would shut Jimmy Wood up so we don't have to hear him having a strop up and down the touchline 🤣🤣

I'd like us to go to Sheffield(Doncaster) and show some spirit, show some passion, show some fire, and defeat the South Yorkshire caravan club with some style and dispatch them back to the camp site and watch them cry into their scrap metal haul

We are Rams... Not lambs 👊👊👊

Some good points Coolie but for me the  main worry is all those missing faces you mention.  .   Definitely the case in our little section of the south stand and I’m not sure they’ll come back.   They certainly won’t pay £18 to watch the style of rugby we’re playing at present.   Lots of talk about how to get people to come but the only way to get fans back is to start winning and the way funding works at present together with the current gates we’re getting means it won’t happen soon and I can’t seem a way out.
Perhaps controversial, but maybe a season in championship one might be the answer😉🙄

I think this helps but it is not the only answer as numbers at the mount testify

Lets not forget we left it 12 months too late to get rid of diskin, and we still have faces who aint come back since. this season just shows what can be done with a few decent players and a very decent coach/bod. dropping down to L 1 aint the answer.

Three or four seasons in C1 certainly wouldn't.

I was away for this match, but listened to HWD Radio and their commentators said that it looked like the older, experienced players, were the ones not forming part of the team (and names were mentioned).
It was suggested that our tries were individual efforts, but Newcastle, playing as a team, passed the ball across the field, moved with determination and individuals ran forcefully at out defence and scoring easily.

It sounded to me like Martin and Gabriel had an off day, but were they any worse than the rest of the team?

If we are to win any new spectators then we have to start playing as a cohesive unit, giving everything for the club  and spectators, but above all, winning matches (too few of those remaining this year) and by wider margins, not the tight ones experienced so far.

It needs someone (or more) with far more marketing ideas than I could muster to bring about an upturn in attracting a large number of new followers. The club needs to offer incentives to lure anyone to us and the biggest incentive to me is to see an entertaining, winning team, or at least, one that plays hard for 80 minutes. We have had little of the winning and virtually no entertainment.
