Squad Depth vs Batley

We're looking a bit thin going into this weekend, especially with Anton leaving having been playing 80 mins the last 2 weeks at LF, hoping the club will be announcing some loan deals today/tomorrow!

  • Anton - Gone
  • Ellis - Out (3-4 weeks?)
  • Stack - Missed last week
  • Worthington - Injured?
  • Luke - Been out the last 3 games injured
  • Sammut - Probably banned 3-7 games
  • Evans - Went off injured last week
  • Brand - Injured vs Widnes/gone back to Leigh?
  • Dan Toal - Still injured.

Looking like a bit of shuffling will be needed, Emslie & Archer to start obviously and put in a lot of minutes, possibly 80 depending on the interchange...

Plus I understand Corkhill is injured.

Seems Brett Carter was the final non-injured active player on the roster.

Likely Tom Hopkins and Jake Carter would both have been in this weeks team.

Wigan prop Harvey Makin has joined on loan. 19 year old who apparently runs and tackles hard. Played for London last week against Batley.

Solves a problem with depth in the pack then! Going to be some big minutes required this week

Why would Sammut not play this week? His ban won’t start till next week against Sheffield. Clueless you. your just guessing on people being injured aswell and how long for.

Didn't know Sammut would go to a tribunal and not get a straight ban, and I guess if Stack didn't play last week it must be an injury, same for Cresswell and Worthington and its well known that Evans went to hospital last week.

No such thing as a straight ban mate educate yourself in the game, all bans start a week later a player can always play the next game then there ban starts been like this for years.

Shocking attitude.  No need at all.

Thought the Wigan lad and Tom Wilkinson had good games today, unluck to lose considering. Funny how the attendance was down with no free entry for the women, no wonder season ticket holders feel like they're getting shafted

Was the attendance down? I thought it was just under 2100 which is pretty similar to most games this season. Think we have had a few games higher and a few games lower than that this season.

We bottled the last 15 minutes. Effort was outstanding but with that wind we should have managed the game to an easy win.

Wilkinson and Makin were outstanding along with Broadbent and Toal.

This side definitely doesn't go down, if we had played smarter in a lot of games I feel we would be closer to the play offs than the bottom 2.

Don’t think the players deserved that result after that effort. Bit smarter with the game management and we would have scraped it. Thought 1-17 stood up today. Wilkinson not been involved before as Cresta has never rated him, only got him on board in desperate times, today he’s shown what he’s capable of

I hope Cresta tears a strip off Wood, we should have been in front with a walk in try.  Today was a missed opportunity for a win, it was there for the taking.

Absolutely. Only 5 mins to go, 2-man overlap Carter and Shaw, 5 metres out, but Wood didn't pass, tried to be a hero and failed. 2 points lost.

And there lies the issue-we aren't smart enough. Our game management and composure has been awful all year. We're a team that's full of guts and effort but it'll only take you so far

2nd from bottom now and don't see that improving in July with away games to Sheffield and Bradford and a home game to Featherstone. Other relegation threatened teams will pull further away by August and we've no chance at Toulouse. So it's going to come down to the last 4 games in September, which are actually all winnable and if so I reckon we'll survive.
