Do you have an alternative for the League One clubs other than a merger with the Championship and weighted fixture lists/conference/sub-divisions etc?

It’s very easy to knock other people’s suggestions, but what do you have of your own?

Or would you have no problem with those League One clubs going to the wall which could be their reality?

I have no answers, I’m looking at it from a owners, club point of view, it’s not as easy as saying oh come on in then, theirs all sorts of problems before you even think about it.

I understand, but it is desperate times.

If it was me I’d let them in but I’ve no idea of clubs financial situations I would be doing it blindly for the sake of the game.

I understand and of course there needs to be discussions from all parties.

Yea but my point is most clubs in champ will of budgeted for their season some I’d guess with no money will budget too on away fans( no I don’t agree with it either) but I’d say Batley budget on a home crowd from fev say and they get an home crowd from Rochdale.

If they go down a conference route - Yorks/Lancs  you should/may get more derby type matches?

Bulls fans make me laugh, you really can't stand being a mediocre team can you and looking at your sqaud, it'll be same again next year. You're just not happy unless you're slinging mud at Fev so your little team that play on a muddy field and dusty terracing look more superior.

Like Fev or not, the club have proven that they're more then capable of attracting good players and putting a strong team on the field and should they get a SL opportunity via the back door, I have no doubt they would field a competitive team. The league table doesn't lie, you can't deny Fev were by far the best team in the league over this season.

Well if you like looking at it from an owners point of view - Try looking at it from an owner in a league of 8 with only 15K per season.

Which ever way you look at it unless it’s from a my club point of view as a fan, it’s not as simple as just chucking 8 teams into a league that would massively benefit those 8 teams than it would the status quo.

I thought London were the best, based on the games I saw.

League table never lies to me griff tbh, we were the best side in the division just for some reason can’t get up for the games that matter.

Possibly lack of intensity in the league games.

One out of seven finals since 1998, is it?

Not a great record, I agree.

It is almost as if the players don’t want to go into Super League, so fall at the last hurdle.

Over 25 years ?   That's a remarkable level of consistency.

On a more practical level, there are indeed full-time players and part-time players.

But all players want to win stuff.

I’ve thought that myself tbh especially the part time players we have, as they will be paid better than any other part time players in champ, but it’s just a theory which could be miles off, but whatever it is doesn’t matter anymore it’s how shiny our toilets are 😉🤣🤣

Might be true this year. Will it be true next year?

I’d guess so yes we won’t have any FT players but I’d guess we will still be offering best PT wages in league, as club keeps saying we’re self sustainable.

Club also says they're cutting back.

2m? What currency are you quoting in?

It was an example not an exact figure les I’ve no idea what players are on lol could be on 500k a week for all I know

I still think we need a bottom tier that properly supports expansion clubs playing similar clubs at a more sustainable level. The Rugby League Conference idea from the Richard Lewis era should be brought back to give a real pyramid for those clubs with professional aspirations but at a cheaper, amateur level.

With the way L1 is going that should perhaps now replace L1 with the stronger clubs joining the Championship and bids from the amateur game to join it.
