It is rumoured that Oldham are trying to sign for the 2025 season Gil Dudson - currently at Salford Red Devils and Iain Thornley - currently at Wakefield Trinity. Dudson is on a season long loan from Warrington Wolves, but is off contract at the end of the season.

Thornley would be a good signing. I can see Turner playing a lot less next season and Thornley would be a very handy replacement. Dudson looks well past his best now and I agree we need more athleticism and skill

I think dudson would be a good addition and bring aggression we’ve lacked. Personally I have no problem signing experienced props so long as we have energy and legs around them.

I'm less convinced with Thornley - is he even an improvement on what we have ?

How many of the present squad will survive championship rugby when they can't manage L1 fitness levels.

Having old heads is fine but I have to agree we need more speed throughout the side. It's interesting to note, the sides we have struggled with have young, quick half backs that have controlled the game. Miller is a good example - I'd try and sign him for next season.

If anything, it has been this sides start to games that has caused us issues so far this season.

Important to strike the right balance between older players dropping down and younger players who will provide more energy. Craven and Ellis is a good example of that, it won’t work at the level above.

I tend to agree with your view on Dudson. His type of aggression is something we are short of. However, I think Thornley would give us some badly needed pace at centre. I'd support a move for both but more critical for me is the need for a halfback. I can't see Ellis being retained after his contract finishes this season. I'm hoping that Astley get's an extended run to build his confidence but the recruitment of a creative 'dual-threat' 7 is vital in my view.

Kieran Dixon rumoured to be heading oldhams way for 2025

How old is he now? He used to be a pretty quick winger. An upgrade on Tyrer and Mo? Not so sure.

And what about the lad that we signed from st Helens who came with a long term injury, he's a winger as well i think 🤔 and someone said that we had signed him for the future 🏉

Not 2025, but in the news section

“RUGBY union star George Ford is set to make a move to rugby league when he hits 35 years of age. That's according to his father, Mike Ford, who revealed on the League Express podcast that George will sign for Oldham RLFC in four years' time. George has of course been cutting his cloth in the 15-man code for his entire playing career despite”

With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!
