JM2010 Posted September 27 Posted September 27 The play offs this year are very red rose top heavy. Hull KR are the sole Yorkshire team. All of us from the east side of the Pennines need to get behind the Rovers and hopefully they can bring the SL trophy back to Yorkshire. 12

Not a hull kr fan but I’m absolutely delighted with their recent upward trajectory both on and off the pitch and would actually love to see them lift the super league trophy at old Trafford in front of 15k+ robins fans. would obviously be great for KR but also super league as a whole to have a new winner. 11

Leyther_Matt Posted September 27 Posted September 27 Time for folk to come to terms with the fact that Yorkshire is a rugby league wasteland. 1
Wollo Wollo Wayoo Posted September 27 Posted September 27 No way. This world was never meant for one as beautiful as me. Wakefield Trinity RLFC 2012 - 2014 "The wasted years" 2013, 2014 & 2015 Official Magic Weekend "Whipping Boys" 2017 - The year the dream disappeared under Grix's left foot. 2018 - The FinniChezz Bromance 2019 - The Return of the Prodigal Son
The Hallucinating Goose Posted September 27 Posted September 27 No thanks, cross city rivalry far outweighs county rivalry for this goose. 3 1

My team may fulfil 'it's always our year' tag. But, if we don't - HKR i'd love to see clinch it. What a team! 2
Hopie Posted September 28 Posted September 28 England are playing fairly soon, I'll keep my behind away from Hull KR.
RayCee Posted September 28 Posted September 28 RL is a club game so county rivalry isn't part of most fan's thought process. It would be good for the Hull KR club and having a different team winning the trophy. I would even support them if they gave out home crowd numbers but that misdemeanor is a deal breaker for me. Sorry JM. My blog: https://rugbyl.blogspot.co.nz/ It takes wisdom to know when a discussion has run its course. It takes reasonableness to end that discussion.
JF1 Posted September 28 Posted September 28 I'm sure Old Frightful will be along shortly to support the premise. 1 2

Archie Gordon Posted September 28 Posted September 28 Just as soon as @Worzel confirms Hull KR are starting a London academy, I am onboard.
John m Posted September 28 Posted September 28 I’m supporting both hull kr and Leigh in the playoffs as both teams have been great success stories in the past 2-3 seasons l 2
Dave T Posted September 28 Posted September 28 Naturally ill be supporting my own team, which would be to a first SL title, but if we can't win, then Leigh and KR will absolutely get my support. 3

If Saints can’t win it (which they can’t ) that would be my preferred option. So I’d imagine you will be getting quite a bit of support from Lancashire. 3
Gerrumonside ref Posted September 28 Posted September 28 (edited) Would be a great story and an example to other clubs of what’s possible and to not give up if Hull KR finished as champions by winning the Grand Final. I’ll overlook the Yorkshire aspect and upset everyone by calling them Humberside and by name dropping Grimsby! East Hull over Saints rivals any day. Edited September 28 by Gerrumonside ref

daz39 Posted September 28 Posted September 28 I support my club and my country, everyone else is a rival wherever they come from, i don't ever 'support' another team, sorry. Supports probably too strong but you usually watch a game with a slight bias to one team or another. That’s just human nature it could be something as simple as one team having a couple of players you don’t like or they could be Wigan either way there’s always something.

Nope, can't say i do, i watch every game as a neutral. 1 HGSA.org.uk proudly partnering with https://www.sportsandbetting.net/ the ultimate destination for people who enjoy sports betting.
Chris22 Posted September 28 Posted September 28 Yorkshire clubs have been outnumbered in the play offs for years now (2024 = 1, 2023 = 1, 2022 = 2, 2021 = 2). Yorkshire-based sides have only won one trophy between them since 2018. I think there's a wider point here that sides from the west of the pennines are far out-performing Yorkshire clubs over the last few years and there isn't an obvious reason why (to me at least). 1
