  1. Two very encouraging runs this weekend. Firstly a sub 25 minute parkrun for the first time since April 2017 then close to a course PB at the Clumber National Trust 10K event yesterday, running sub 53 minutes when I was aiming for 55. I did eat a lot yesterday afterwards though, putting my weight up a bit!

  3. The Oscar's acceptance speeches. Don't get me wrong, I think Olivia Colman is a fine actress and although I haven't seen her latest film I don't doubt she is worthy of the award. But her acceptance speech, as are most others, was toe curlining embarrassment personified. Have I lost my sense of humour, what were the audience laughing at? It was made worse by the BBC morning show presenters telling us how jolly and funny it all was.

  6. Often sighted for providing inspiration. 'Its My Life' and 'Life what you make it' still hold up well.

  7. True, but if you brought Dixie Dean back and in his prime, he have scored at least 120 goals in one season, even with 21 Fatty Foulke's in goal.

  8. Everton still wouldn’t hit them . Even if you took the goalie out

  9. Closed the main highway north out of Toronto due to the conditions up there. Blowing in the Toronto area but not sever blizzards. Upshot of this is the big bosses business group couldn’t get in so I’ve managed to score some Leafs tickets for tonight!

  10. Personally i would do away with penalty shoot outs . After 90 mins , they should play until the next goal and they would be the winners , however long it takes .people argue this is no argument as the match could go on indefinitely ,but if both Teams knew that before kick-off they might actually try to win the game in 90 mins rather than bore the pants off everybody and settle for a dull draw and then pens .

  12. The whole self absorbed back slapping luvvie fest is pretty vomit inducing . The acceptance speeches of oh my god oh my god ... I never expected ... ( tears ) ... I’d like to thank ... oh little old me , here blah blah blah especially . News keep saying Coleman was a total shock but I thought most folk thought she was a cert . The wider argument about what ‘ the academy ‘ thinks are the best is another that gets debated every year

  14. Enjoyed seeing Bohemian Rhapsody win more Oscars than any other film at this year's awards, despite being roundly trashed by the critics.

  16. I go on an engineering site and the Aussies on there are always bigging up Australia. Way to much wildlife there for my liking. Crocs and snakes in the streets during the recent floods ! If want to see them in the flesh I'll go to a zoo !

  17. This afternoon, for the first time (despite knowing about it for ages), I finally watched 'Black Narcissus'. Made in 1947, and absolutely superb!

  21. Not good. Back has completely gone. Spent 4 hours in hospital getting injections and scans. Follow up is next week when the swelling goes down, so a week off at least. On the back of a poor weekend diet of multiple curries, beers and magnum ice creams. Going to be a challenging week. Down to 114k at one point, started at the week back at 116
