Kenilworth Tiger Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 Firstly I would suggest to Pat Richards to get on to his agent and ask for a slot on "This Morning" to tell them how he was nearly hit by a lighter and how it upset him. Secondly, contact the Daily Mail to do something similar Thirdly bring out a book a week or so later and dedicate a whole chapter to the incident If you take into account the Now then, it's a race between Sandie....and Fairburn....and the little man is in........yeees he's in. I, just like those Castleford supporters felt that the ball should have gone to David Plange but he put the bit betwen his teeth...and it was a try Kevin Ward - best player I have ever seen The real Mick Gledhill is what you see on here, a Bradford fan ........, but deep down knows that Bradford are just not good enough to challenge the likes of Leeds & St Helens.

Wellsy4HullFC Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 You can't prevent a missile being thrown. It's a split-second thing. It's about how you deal with it. Did they chuck out the culprit(s)? What procedures are there to follow?

StevieM13 Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 I think the OP has a very fair point. Chanting does not endanger players, it shows a lack of understanding of their sensibilities, the poor luvs. There did appear to be just one incident of a lighter making it's way on to the playing surface, though the Sky cameramen and broadcast editor may have picked up more and declined to the pictures. I didn't see hordes of KR fans down at the front of the stand making efforts to trespass on to the playing surface and assault the Wigan players either, then again the cameras were not down at that end too much. Did the match officials see more than we were shown and make the decision not to insist the Wigan players stood behind the posts, or were the KR supporters so uncontrolled by the club stewards that player safety could be compromised. Either way, it looked terrible and that one incident could actually do the image and reputation of the game massive harm. Huge fine for Wigan failing to have sufficiently well trained stewards to prevent player safety possibly being compromised, and a huge fine for Rovers for not asking their fans to behave properly at all times.
Trojan Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 (edited) In what way - do you think there should be no action taken? I've posted on the Union site on a similar topic about Hull KR's crowd problems. Craven Park is the only ground where I've been physically threatened. I shouted for Fev in the old Threepenny Stand at the Boulevard, with some banter but no problem. I've even shouted for Fev at Wheldon Road and not had a problem. After their action against Cas surely the RFL should take some action should be taken against Hull KR. I suppose there is an argument that it didn't happen at Craven Park whereas the Cas incident did happen at Wheldon Road, nevertheless I believe there is a long standing problem at Hull KR. Old Frightful Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 Not much seems to have been made of this. Are the RFL trying to keep it quiet? I've never seen the players stand on the halfway line for their own safety during a conversion before. Only takes one moron in a thousand or two though. Was anything else other than the lighter thrown on? I heard some coins were too. Hit them with 40k, half suspended for a couple of years. That might sharpen their minds that they may have a problem. You've no need to get on a high horse about this one. The only previous trouble at the JJB/DW was when Hull visited a few years ago, which involved Paul Cooke's mates on a stag do.

Possibly so but lets' keep this thread on track please and discuss the action the RFL will take against cookey and his mates at HKR? StevieM13 Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 Not much seems to have been made of this. Are the RFL trying to keep it quiet? Could be some Stonewalling going on here........unless of course someone at the ground makes a complaint. I wonder if it was in the match commissioners report.
JohnM Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 I've never seen the players stand on the halfway line for their own safety during a conversion before. ah! Now I understand! This is where the radio humberside commentators were screaming about the arrogance of the Wigan players not standing behind the line etc etc!
Carnie's Cover Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 KT I totally understand your frustration with this, your club was made an example of simple as that but the RFL have now set out their stall and should therefore deal with this incident created by the minority more harshly in my opinion than the miniority that were politically incorrect at the Jungle. but it is the RFL. KR by now should have been able to obtain security footage from the DW identified the #### and banned them. I have not looked on their website so cannot confirm if they have done this or not. the other thing which I think is going out of our game is we always self policed it. The real KR fans (by this I mean true supporters not these idiot football fans infiltrating our game) should have ran down their in numbers and beat the living $hit out of these idiots. to answer your question large fine and a second offence leads to a home KR tie with no home fans allowed.
Viking Warrior Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 oh for gods sake kenny, how can a cas fan pontificate about the behaviour of another clubs fans after your own fans behaviour in the last two seasons??? that said, it does appear to be endemic with yorkshire clubs, first hull the cas and now hullkr.................. Nowhere have I said my clubs fans are angels - I am asking for opinions on how the HKR Club should be punished for the actions of one or two of their fans. Do you think seeing Wigan players not standing under the sticks is a good image for our great game - unfortunately these scenes were rescreened on the BBC yesterday and a couple of colleagues from work mentioned it. Do you think the fine should be equal to or more than the one Cas got? Now then, it's a race between Sandie....and Fairburn....and the little man is in........yeees he's in. Kenilworth Tiger Posted September 20, 2010 Author Posted September 20, 2010 But what about the fact that this happened at Wigan not at Hull? What can the Hull KR club do about something that happens on another club's ground? Apparently the fines are dished out for not doing anything about something that has already happened so I guess they should ban them, fine them, publicly stone them. So I presume it's how the club react to what has already happened but judging by cookeys post there's nothing to worry about in East Hull Now then, it's a race between Sandie....and Fairburn....and the little man is in........yeees he's in.
