With the hooter gone Sneyd makes a break and Carlos gets obstructed trying to back up. Sneyd penalty 14-18.

Strange half of rugby, Hull have dominated but being very wasteful, whereas Saints have scored from every half chance they've had.

Hull trying to give Saints the game, Saints seem reluctant to want it.

Tuimavave over,

I think the Radio Merseyside commentary with old Ray and Alan Rooney might be even more biased than the 'Umbersard version.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

Houghton would look good in an England shirt.

Spoilt aren't we at the moment? Hodgson, Clark and Houghton all in top nick. Lunt and McShane handy too.

We'll get Roby and Mickey Mac.

Another hugely gritty performance from Hull, they were under the pump big style for the first half of the second half, but yet again they found a way.

I thought Saints showed up pretty well btw. Miles better than the last time we met.

Good win for Hull.

How come it was played on a Saturday, especially with football clash? Didn't think Saturday was standard game day for Hull?

Not sure, but initially it was supposed to be a double header with the reserves playing afterwards, but that was cancelled.

How did the potential England players go? Am thinking Taylor, Watts, Houghton, Sneyd and Shaul...

They all contributed well. Taylor got motm, himself and Watts were excellent again (first try was a Watts break and a lovely flick pass out the back of his hand to Ellis). Houghton was his usual busy self, but Saints pack did okay and he didn't have as much space at last time the teams met. He kicked a 40-20 at a crucial moment in the second half. Sneyd and Shaul were marshalled pretty well but had their moments. Shaul is rock solid under a bomb.

Thought it was a poor game in terms of quality. Still think hull haven't played to full potential against a top team. Beating teams who are well below there best is all well and good. Playoffs when teams are at full strength and peaking will be the acid test for fc.

There were lots of errors from both teams, but I don't think the quality was necessarily that low. Both teams did some really good things at times.

Surprised and disappointed nobody's answered to this.

Hull and Saints play for the Steve Prescott Trophy every year, the team that wins by the biggest aggregate score of the two rounds wins it.

Hull always have a "Party in the park" before their home game and this year it was arranged for today. It's hopefully to encourage as many Saints fans across as possible to come across and raise funds for the Steve Prescott Foundation.

Hopefully, the wendyball game wouldn't have detracted too much from the efforts today.

Ellis over from suspiciously forward pass.

6-0

The flicked pass from Watts? Be interesting to see it again because it looked an absolute peach from where I was sitting. I didn't think there was even a hint of a forward pass about it.
