Individual club threads?

Recommended Posts

Do fans want a thread individual to their club where you can gripe about how bad the ref was or how poor the kicking game was or how well the new signing played in the last game?

Or indeed anything to do with the club that you follow.

Thoughts please.

It is odd. Some club threads are completely dead, others have literally 1000s of posts. No idea what that means, other than some clubs' fans are maybe more computer literate than others.

No , other clubs use other formats like Facebook and RL fans

Some clubs use RLFANS, some have there own Forums, but a lot use Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.

Not true.

Quite a few of the Championship and League 1 forums on here are used frequently.

A lot of TRL members don't stray off the main forum and AOB (plus its foetid outside toilet, the politics subforum).

So you get plenty of posts on the main forum about subjects which have their their own forums (internationals, NRL, etc.), thus fragmenting the discussions.

And the weekly match threads usually supply plenty of club-specific chat. Some of it is even civilised. ?

It's a historical anomaly.

In t'olden days, TotalRL had no club forums at all.

Then this site merged with another forum (rugbyleague.org) in the mid 2000s, which did have club forums, so we kept them going.

Not all the club forums on rugbyleague.org were well used, as some clubs already had popular forums running elsewhere, but we kept them all going on here for the sake of completeness, and to stop anyone asking why we were biased against their club for not having a forum on here...

Basically, the club forums are there for anyone who wants to use them. If people don't want to use them on here, it doesn't bother us, as TRL was never set up as a club based thing in the first place.

I like the Batley forum and it was this that brought me here.

It's the best place to discuss the club, signings and matches.
