As usual wearing shorts between Easter & September 23rd.

September 23rd, when my great uncle died in 1917 at Passchendale, aged 19, always the cut off for my shorts, no pun intended.

On a positive note I'd like to point out that the sun doesn't set any earlier for another week yet.

So far, it looks to be a sunny day in Shetland, so it might be worth taking a look at this live webcam, or others on the same site, at midnight tonight to see how much daylight there still is, which will probably be quite a bit unless it clouds over:

My family once had a Shetland holiday at this time of year.  One day, at midnight, inside and without any lights on, I was able to read that week's edition of The Shetland Times quite easily!

I hope it does start getting a bit darker for longer in the morning soon. I'm an incredibly sensitive sleeper, can only sleep comfortably when it's basically pitch black. Woke up an hour ago, light outside, not gonna get back to sleep now.
