They could just have the captains pick two teams from available players on the day. Or Married v Single. Smokers v Nonsmokers. Drinkers v Nondrinkers. Dog owners v Cat owners. The possibilities are endless.

The NRL clubs could also merge and there would be just one game every season, Northern Hemisphere v Southern Hemisphere, played in Qatar.
