The Press is no longer a local paper, and the content is usually poor and incorrect. I think Emma does a great job covering the Knights, but she's fighting a losing battle  for space with (2 day old) 'breaking news' about potholes in some remote part of Yorkshire.

Who remembered Martin Lacey in the 80s. He was a big guy and often played in the reserves aswell

A chap called Alfred Foster was the first York R.L. reporter I remember. Don't know how I remembered him, I'll have to go and have a lie down now!

Far better than those journos John when we had the original Evening Press. As mentioned already Martin Lacey and the very professional Peter Smith who went on to ghost write rugby league autobiographies, think he still writes for the Yorkshire Post.  As many posters have highlighted, the current York Press is a joke, the young journos are on a hiding to nothing.

Another one I forgot Peter! Apologies. Peter Smith. As you say he went on to better things and I think your correct to say he's still with the Post.

I will  always be grateful to Peter Martini for the press coverage he gave us when we were trying to get a club started after the demise of the Wasps.

There's a bit in the Press saying Chris Clarkson is to retire at the end of the season, Clarkson been a brilliant signing for the Knights, thanks for pulling a Knights shirt on Chris.

Totally agree , wasn't convinced about clarky to start with but has proved to be a goód leader out there plus his versatility and commitment to the knights has been second to none, made the right decision to go out at the top , thanks for helping the club , good luck clarky

Has certainly been a great signing and will certainly take some replacing and moving him into the centres late in the season tightened the right hand side of our defence up,thanks Chris for pulling on a knights shirt.

Sorry to see Clarky is hanging up his boots, great bloke, always has time for the fans and has captained York well, giving everything on the pitch, He will be missed by the players and fans alike. Hope he has a happy retirement.
