How much do RL coaching staff get paid?

I suspect plenty of staff work for less than the going rate for their job or even minimum wage if it's associated with a professional sport that they love

E.g. at my point on life I'd def take a significant pay cut to do something with Broncos or a SL club ......there is value in being involved with something you live and care about as a hobby

There needs to be a clear distinction from employment & volunteer roles, if you're contracted to a number of hours then expected to do more on top - that's not good practice from the SL club in question

With the sport being salary capped (and at arguably a low level) for the playing staff, you would think the salaries offered to the coaching staff could be a real point of differentiation.

Sorry - We must have been confused when you were the first response to this thread with the answer of "Yes"

I.e. "Yes - I know exactly how much they make, but no I won't be telling you"

If that isn't participating in the discussion, I am not sure what is..

To be fair, you have posted 4 times on a thread just to tell us you won't be joining the discussion.

Its nice to get some answers to my question after a couple of days of knowing there is an individual out there with all the info but unable to divulge it because, I can only assume, they are in MI5 and the info is a threat to domestic security or something.

I don't even know how much the average Super League player earns. A relative pittance probably. It's a damn shame.

Wages in soccer have gone absolutely parabolic lately, and it seems RL is languishing to the point that I don't know how those involved make it worth their while.

It really is a shame. When I was young I would have done anything to play for Hull FC, and I had a couple of half chances at it with service area, scholarship trials etc., but in hindsight I'm glad that I wasn't quite good enough to be a professional player. I'm 32 now, my salary is higher than the average SL salary (or at least very similar to it). Had I made it as a player, I would now be either retired or thinking about it, my body would be a wreck, and I'd be faced with the prospect of having to learn a brand new trade or profession (very few players in the grand scheme of things make it into coaching or the media).

For what these guys put themselves through the money is terrible really. When I hear fans talking about players letting them down or saying they have paid their hard earned money and deserve better it really annoys me. The players put their bodies, their health, on the line week in week out for your entertainment. We all want our clubs to be successful and we all like a moan sometimes, but just turning up and paying your £25 entitles you to nothing.

SL head coach: 80-250k extremes (120-200 more typical)

SL assistant: 30-80k (40-60)

SL staff/specialist: 20-40k

champ head coach: 20-60k

champ other: 5-25k

champ and lower having part time staff mainly would keep the average quite low.

It’s not good practice, but if an individual doesn’t do it, then someone else will!

Can I ask if this is from specific knowledge of circumstances within clubs or your best assessment of what the ranges may be?

Reasonable amount of actual knowledge extrapolated out.
