How much do RL coaching staff get paid?

This morning I was having a conversation with my brother about the wages of coaching staff in football and it occurred to me that I didn't know the kind of wages RL coaching staff get so I was just wondering if anyone knew the sorts of amounts?

Yep.

But it's not appropriate to post on an internet forum.

Safe to say it's less than soccer, though.

I have often wondered this.

Not sure a salary range couldn't be stated on a site like this, no-one is asking for a person's individual salary and there are loads of websites that show average salaries by occupation in private and public sector organisations.

Best paid RL jobs are Defence coach in RU….

It's not just the money, it's the time. People that go to RU to do that are working significantly less on small facet of the game. The same coach could be working 60 hours a week over long drawn out days, 6/7 days a week in RL.

In the NRL the top, "franchise" coaches get paid as much as the highest-paid players. Bennett was allegedly hired on $1.4m at Dolphins, Trent Robinson's supposedly on $1m at the Roosters. But up-and-coming coaches are more like $400k, so less than half what the top player at the particular club would earn.

I'd imagine it's probably about the same sort of ratio to player wage here, obviously at a lower level.

Apparently this site says I "won the day" here on 23rd Jan, 19th Jan, 9th Jan also 13th December, whatever any of that means. Anyway, 4 times in a few weeks? The forum must be going to the dogs - you people need to seriously up your game. Where's Dutoni when you need him?

Why on earth should it be inappropriate?

And before you ask anyone would easily get an idea what I earn as my jobs scales are nationally agreed

But there are no job scales for Championship Rugby League coaches.

I don't even know how much the average Super League player earns. A relative pittance probably. It's a damn shame.

Wages in soccer have gone absolutely parabolic lately, and it seems RL is languishing to the point that I don't know how those involved make it worth their while.

Wonder what the motivation for Bennett is these days.....he must have enough money for hundred years worth of retirement

Not a lot. I was at a SL academy club doing S&C. 20 hr contract(worked a lot more, unpaid) on minimum wage.

If you worked more than your contracted hours and you were on minimum wage, you were effectively on less than minimum wage and they'd be breaking employment rules - if you took them to court you'd have a good case

And no reason why a typical CRL coaches salary should not be discussed on a RL forum

Feel free.  But I won't be taking part.

To answer this question alternatively, from memory of around 2012, I remember learning that the GM of a SL club on avg was earning about £50k - £60k.

I was astonished as my guess at the time was a minimum £125k.

Now let’s consider what an assistant SL club coach earns.

I suspect plenty of staff work for less than the going rate for their job or even minimum wage if it's associated with a professional sport that they love

E.g. at my point on life I'd def take a significant pay cut to do something with Broncos or a SL club ......there is value in being involved with something you live and care about as a hobby

I would tbe surprised if SL coaches are about 80k....seems about right to me based on how much money out sport has

I guess there is also a LOT of people who want to do it.....this keeps the salary down too
