I see that Newcastle have folded, will they be the last?

I think, sadly, no they won't be the last.

It's all about money, or the lack of it.

The game's shrinking in response to reality and that reality is the advantage of being on the M62 corridor: Next season 10 of 14 Championship clubs will be in Yorkshire. Most of their away games are within an hours drive and the player pool is on their doorsteps.

The teams on the west of the Pennines and in Cumbria in particular have to do a lot more travelling yet everyone has the same central funding.

I don't know the answer, but the disadvantages of geography are being played out right now.

The RFL claim they want Expansion yet the decisions they make tend to favour the big few which in turn guarantee's  the shrinking foot print to a 60 miles radius of the M62......MADNESS

Surely they must go for a single league under the Sky circus

Yes I agree got to go that way to safeguard current League 1 clubs.

Gutted for them and I hope they rebuild and bounce back.

However, they gave us a bit of a tanking at their's at the end of the season and I wonder if they have any available players now off contract that might be worth pursuing?

Nikau Williams was the one who took the eye that day, would be a good fit for us

Raiders voted against any kind of change to the structure. They are protectionist just like super league. Disgraceful

It doesn't mean supporters agree with the decision.

But it's not up to the supporters.

I'd rather go to Newcastle than Toulouse or London.

Raiders didn't vote against any change to the structure, there was no vote, only a discussion.

What we did say was that we are tired of the constant chopping and changing to the structure. We said to look at football and the pyramid system they have and that every team in the country from grass roots upwards should have the opportunity to progress with the caveat that promotion to a higher division should be with minimum standards.

We said the Championship had been a great league this season but we recognised that League One was broken and suggested that some top conference sides might be invited to take their chances. There was also a suggestion that Wigan, St.Helens and Hull might enter B teams like Real Madrid and Barcelona in Spanish football.

We have since written to the CEO and suggested an interim season of one division with a view to a 12 team Championship in 2025 and 10 team League One but with the mission to get two extra teams to also take League One to 12 teams.

The one division of 22 teams would play each other once and 5 loop fixtures to ensure the 13 home games that we are selling season tickets for. Top 6 play-offs. top 11 in the Championship for 2025 and a play-off for the remaining place for teams 12th to 17th. That should keep an interest for most right to the end of the season.

Are we going to get some team info on next seasons team soon?

Patton has chosen Swinton

Only a wild DP guess. They're welcome to him as far as I'm concerned.

Unless the Wigan dual deal is going to produce 3-4 good lads then another long season ahead
