I’m not too educated on Elite 1 so some off it may be a bit off but I’ve tried to be as accurate as possible. A lot of depth in the Front Row for France, but I would say there outside backs and back row need some work.

Is this just French players who play in the French comp? If not you've missed a couple playing in the UK.

FWIW, it's not a lack of players that lets France down, though they are clearly weaker than most, it's the coaching set up. Other than at Catalan, it appears to be almost non existent. Also, and I may be wrong here, but from a neutrals perspective, French players, especially those at Catalan don't seem to see playing for France as much of an honour - don't think I've seen what I would call a full strength French team in years.

How can the French coaching set up be none existent with Toulouse Olympique and the Elite Competitions going on?

That's some tiptop work there, great work.

I would put Robin Brochon at FB to be honest.

Gigot won't be around much longer.

A proper résumé would be to do a full review on anyone less than 25, as that is where the future lies

Fantastic list. Are Super League sides exploring the opportunity in signing these players.  Compared to the Southern Hemisphere players, they would not cost that much, and would help develop the sport in the Northern hemisphere further.

Would not mind at all that the London Broncos looked into this.  It's a no brainer to me. I am aware that the club are focusing on developing their academy players, but picking a few of these French players, would be handy additions to the squad. Plus would not cost them that much.

Some already play for Catalans and Toulouse in SL and Championship. Others already play for English SL and Championship clubs.

I'm sure that Catalans, Toulouse and English professional clubs would sign up any others that they consider would improve their squads.

I agree they would. There are a lot of names on the list provided. Would love to see the Broncos sign a few and give them the Same development they are doing so successfully with the academy boys.

In terms of French players in Australia, the roosters have 2 supossidley not 100% sure if they’ve resigned but Enzo Griffier and Sacha Kouassi both played jersey Flegg last year. Baptiste Fabre plays for the Brisbane Tigers (though currently on a short stint back in France) Played mostly Hastings Deering Colts this year but will probably be playing QLD Cup next year.

Also Hnaloan Budden is a QLD cup regular from New Caladonia who has recently made a move to Saint Gaudens. (Also Joe Chan is practically raised in France but prefers to play for NZ)

Fair summary hopefully the best team will be available ...

What can best ensure that happens? We can't afford France putting another sub-standard team out. Did anyone review the Warrington shambles? Are the players the problem? TO and/or Catalans to blame? What incentives are needed?

For god sake I’m on about the international set up. Though to seriously suggest that coaching at the elite levels is anything close to SL or the NRL or even the Championship is utterly laughable

Good listings. You put Robin Brochon (TO13) third in the half back line and he has improved with each game. I would put him down as a contender for player of the season though I suppose Josh Ralph and Zac Santo to name a few would contest that. Robin looked just as accomplished during the early games in the season playing at fullback. A handy kicker too.

Pick your best 17 from that list, and they would still require 40/50 start against England's strongest 17, all those French born who are not with the Catalan club at the present time are obviously not of SL quality or they would be with Catalan.

And who would guide them around the field? From the '23 Catalans take away Tomkins, Pearce, McIlorum and May, and add to that ever presents or first choice players such as Keighran, Johnstone, Davies, McMeekin, Whitley and Ma'o and it doesn't leave the French with a great deal of quality to select from for the national team.
