As expected, the two London sided had comfortable wins.

The next round will be crackers with  Wests Warriors taking on Rochdale Mayfield and Hammersmith Hills Hoists (last years Southern Conference winners) against West Bowling.

One or both of these streamed would be great.

I was really impressed with the Orrell St James No10 he had a fantastic match.

I went to the game this afternoon. For sure, Orrell's No 10 was outstanding. Tireless. He never stopped taking up the ball, and always looked capable of breaking the line. Must have been more than a thousand spectators at OSJ. Admission was £3. An eight-programme was a quid.

Went the game as well…….bloody cold wasn’t it. Good game. Haresfinch getting into good positions, but couldn’t finish. Great defence by OSJ though. Orrell deserving the victory. A great turnout to witness it.

Scotland RL socials today, instead of hailing the Edinburgh Eagles' victory opted instead to promote their U19 "national" team trials in St Helens 🤦‍♂️

Sums up the main problem with international rugby league.

I see Orrell's No 10 did win the official Player of the Match award. Name check: Kye Siyani.

Were these CC games subject to the RFL's bold new proposals aimed at "cleaning up the ruck area"?

With particular emphasis on the requirement to "make a genuine attempt to play the ball with the foot".

Or is everyone intending to tidy up their room later in the year?

I'm on tenterhooks.

If you had watched any of the games you might have found out.

Definite attempt where I went - Oulton Park and Bankes Ave......

I've only seen highlights of Fryston v Army. No discernible change from last year. Fryston weren't too bad, but Army were chucking it through their legs.
