###### crowd 😞

Especially when it’s between 2 Sydney teams.

only excuse can be used is that both teams aren’t inner city teams but still poor crowd.

It wasnt last year…..brisbane lost both finals one day after the other.

True, once every 7 yrs (+ or - leap years) they will be back to back.

As in the AFL GF is always the last Saturday of Sept’ and the NRL GF is always the first Sunday of Oct’.

Yeah, the bar really needs to be at 60k for two Syd teams playing at Homebush on a Saturday night with a spot in the GF on the line.

Strewth, it didn’t even hit 35k. Disappointing.

We were there and had a good night, bar the result, right there in the corner where Cleary did the chip kick for To`o to score, pity a few more of the whingers about crowds weren`t.

Can Panthers make it 4 in a row? That's an incredible feat to even be in 5 GFs in a row. Melbourne only team to beat them in this run.

Hope they do it. They never seem to win the WCC!

Can’t see past Melbourne.

jahrome hughes has to be the best RL player on the planet right now.

the kiwis will be praying he doesn’t pick up a knock in the final.

I think it was unfortunate that it was between 2 greater Sydney teams and not the likes of say Canterbury, parramatta or even the tigers which either 1 would have seen a crowd of at least 50k.

Would playing it at the SFS have been better? The location for fans of these two teams maybe not but it's a better stadium all round, especially for a lower crowd surely?

Don’t the NRL have to use Accor stadium as part of a lease agreement?

Massive shame the bulldogs were knocked out in week 1 of the finals, but great for them to see their 2 feeder clubs playing in the grand final next week; Penrith for the guys and Cronulla for the gals.

Would probably have affected the crowd even more as it would be even further for the panthers fans to travel.

30k+ in Allianz would have looked and sounded much better though.

Penriths run started with defeat by Melbourne it can see it ending the same way.

Why do we have to make excuses for Sydneys failure to support their teams? AFL prelim finals had a sell out in Sydney and over 90,000 in Melbourne for two teams from outside Melbourne.

The last two world cups down under had finals in Brisbane because the organisers knew it wouldnt attract a crowd in Sydney.

Im certainly not making any excuses for this underwhelming crowd and I’m constantly bagging(on other platforms) the woeful crowds the sharks have been getting of late.

Look the accepted wisdom for Accor is that it is really only for crowds less than 20k that the place suffers from lack of atmosphere, with 35k the other night it was fine.

Are the NRL locked into an agreement to play finals games at Accor?

Those are awesome numbers and will surely strengthen the hands of the NRL come the next tv deal negotiations.
