Wikepedia say that he is 0.79 inches tall and weights 629 stone. That should be interesting!

The scrim reaper Posted March 21 Posted March 21 Not sure how this game will pan out York looking for their first win and us still playing with a patched up squad, conditions could be damp which I think always favours our boys when we have our strongest squad out! Could go either way hopefully the boys will come out on top! On another note for all you batley fans great documentary on you tube following batley in the 2002 season, type in RL RAW 2002 Picture of stozzer on the front and plenty of faces in the crowd, see if you can spot yourself and see how well you've aged Or not!
RogerT Posted March 21 Posted March 21 I have been watching it brilliant, wish Batley could them crowds again especially that one against Oldham.

Dog forever Posted March 23 Posted March 23 Wow that was a lack lustre performance, and 1 to forget. Nobody clicked today, and we looked like we had never played together before. Lads that we look for to find that gap, or throw that pass out that might make something happen did not happen. Browny didn't make his usual yards, wardy couldn't break through, leaky wasn't interested in his usual scoots, but parsons was finding gaps when he was on but never no one on his shoulder. Well what can I say about gledhill, even a york supporter said to me who is that donkey wearing the 8 shirt. I could go on and on , but I think enough said about today's effort, we lost the game in every department to give a winless york their first win.
distantdog Posted March 24 Posted March 24 (edited) Not a great performance as mentioned above. York better than us across the park but especially in the forwards which allowed Harris to dictate play. Saying that, l thought the first half was fairly even, we had a couple of good chances to get on the board and Gledhill was held up over the line. At half time l still thought we were in the game, and a couple of times we were within a try of them but our overall performance didn't deserve a win. I think this was the game where all our absentees in the forwards caught up with us. Having a full pack of Championship forwards missing told, especially with their first try uphill where we looked lightweight defensively in the middle. Also, Gledhill was playing his first rugby since last year, and it showed. Because we were dominated in the middle, Greensmith and Myers never really got going and our wingers never had space in front of them. Edited March 24 by distantdog 2

Let’s be honest we haven’t had the same 17 if we have it for the next 2/3 weeks we’ll be fine… http://tombatley.wordpress.com/ Give it a read..

But yesterday we lacked that grunt upfront. Making ground seemed to be a real effort, especially returning uphill from Harris' kicks. We just need a it of stability in selection now. which I guess is your point.
The scrim reaper Posted March 24 Posted March 24 As said above we were so lacklustre yesterday we had a tough game last week maybe it took a lot out of us, and York had the week off which is probably why they looked a bit fresher than us, I know it's hard when you have a patched up squad but you still have to get the basics right! 3 soft tries given away one from acting half back again! one under the posts with 3 men on him and the last try where he went straight through 3 tacklers ,we didn't create anything in attack either when in good positions, York were nothing special and I reckon had we our full strength squad out things would have been diffrent, let this one go, and move on to next week which unfortunately isn't going to be any easier!
phildog Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Wasn't there yesterday so have only seen the highlights, which were quite brief. People complaining about Gledhill need a shake, he's been through a lot personally this last few months, short on game time but he's back on 1 week team training. As someone else said, we're swapping and changing the team set-up weekly, we really need to get dr/loans coming regularly and also missing Walshaw, Manning, Flynn has a real effect. One thing I have noticed in most of our games and again on the highlights, what seems to be letting us down and putting us on the back foot is that we're missing a large chunk of first tackles and sometimes following on with missed 2nd tackles and we don't cover the ball enough. Considering the upheaval we're not a half bad team but it needs knitting together as I said with regular players.
