Dave T Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 I like the idea of flag bearers. Always thought we missed an opportunity to celebrate the nations more in these ceremonies.
Spidey Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 England’s song in the opening ceremony is Tubthumping by Chumbawumba apparently ?
JoneslessBishop Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 Opening ceremony in 2013 at cardiff was fantastic. Roof closed, great light show. BBC never showed it which was a shame

Spidey Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 Just now, Scubby said: Good idea. The write up on Pat Richards doesn’t do the heritage argument much good. They could have said instead that he’s the first Irishman to tally 1000 points for Wigan ??

JoneslessBishop Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 They have an hours build up which I think is more than the last time, so hopefully some highlights
DiH68 Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 Wonder what time it starts? No mention of it in there that I could see. I’d like to get into the stadium in time to see it!

You would have thought this game would have been a touts dream? Maybe in another dimension :/

Still most areas are starting to look full, should be in the vicinity of a sell out.
Kris Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 Millenium stadium was fantastic really well put together 2008 wasn't that good and not expecting this one to be as good as but the Aussie war cry thing should be very interesting - watch Jammers eyebrow go up when that goes off cant wait woke up at 330 so my body clock is getting ready for the weekend matches - excited like a big kid

Unless nobody else was available Probably not worth flying Kerr out there just to carry a flag for 30 seconds in a ceremony nobody will remember. Although it's a shame they couldn't get Stanley Gene for PNG.
Allora Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 I think it is because Stanley Gene is almost unknown in Australia Talent is secondary to whether players are confident.
