Predictions for the future -

Crusaders RL to get a franchise for 2012 onwards -WRONG

Widnes Vikings also to get a franchise - RIGHT

Crusaders RL to do the double over Widnes and finish five places ahead of them -WRONG

Widnes Vikings NOT to dominate rugby league in years to come! STILL TO COME

I promise to pay 10 to the charity of Bomb Jacks choice if Widnes Millionaires finish above the battling underdogs Crusaders RL. I OWE A TENNER!

I like the idea of flag bearers. Always thought we missed an opportunity to celebrate the nations more in these ceremonies.

Good idea.

The write up on Pat Richards doesn’t do the heritage argument much good. They could have said instead that he’s the first Irishman to tally 1000 points for Wigan ??

Why Pat Richards? They could have got any old Wayne Kerr to do this?

Jokes aside this is quite true. Unless nobody else was available

Opening ceremony in 2013 at cardiff was fantastic. Roof closed, great light show. BBC never showed it which was a shame

I don’t expect the BBC will show this one either!!!!

Wonder what time it starts? No mention of it in there that I could see. I’d like to get into the stadium in time to see it!

7.45pm. Looks like a quick one.

I also saw 7.30 mentioned elsewhere

Ha! And an 8pm kickoff. Shortest opening ceremony in history?

I dont think they are taking it too seriously. Hence the sales.

Even a sellout now thy have halved the price speaks volumes.

Night match will probably hide most of the damage. Melbourne always looks decent with 20k+ in. You would have thought this game would have been a touts dream? Maybe in another dimension :/

Ticket prices today actually went up!!! Cat A from $140 to $154. Still most areas are starting to look full, should be in the vicinity of a sell out.

Millenium stadium was fantastic really well put together

2008 wasn't that good and not expecting this one to be as good as but the Aussie war cry thing should be very interesting - watch Jammers eyebrow go up when that goes off

cant wait woke up at 330 so my body clock is getting ready for the weekend matches - excited like a big kid

Probably not worth flying Kerr out there just to carry a flag for 30 seconds in a ceremony nobody will remember. Although it's a shame they couldn't get Stanley Gene for PNG.

I think it is because Stanley Gene is almost unknown in Australia

Talent is secondary to whether players are confident.
