Unfortunately we rely on a small but solid core of support and sponsorship. The reducing gates this season are definitely telling a story about the management of the squad, the motivation of the squad, which has translated into deteriorating performances and confidence. The prognosis for next season from where we currently are is for  the same trend to continue.......unless action is taken now.

Featherstone dispensed with Jon Sharp, a quality and experienced Coach, with far less reasons than we have to terminate Diskin's contract. Just to stand still in today's competitive RL environment, you have to maintain high levels of networking and take some decisions that may be hard and unpopular. When you are reviewing the current situation Kevin, please consider that you have to speculate to accumulate, and look at the far bigger picture of the future of our Club, who have proved from the recent past that we can be successful.

I thought Barry Eaton was tied up with Leeds Rhino's.

keep him tied up..  we need a whip round for a step up coach who aint a buddy and gets massive respect when he steps in a room.and can get the most outa players when it counts and have a chance a getting them playing were they are best suited to all season, not many around but am sure those in charge have compiled a list of maybe 4 possibilitys...

Didn’t Sharp get them in the top four last season?

He certainly did the hard work for Duffy to walk into, and brought Fev up a few notches in quality. Well respected, coached SL at the Giants, and former Assistant England Coach with a good knowledge of Championship rugby.

Garry Thornton seems to be doing well - might be worth a try?

Sport, amongst other things, is a dream-world offering escape from harsh reality and the disturbing prospect of change.

As I posted previously Silverback, the Club have too many comfort zones that need busting to stop the complacency and get it back into a progressive footing. The alternative is what Kevin so eloquently refers to.

And he's an ex Batley coach to boot........

Knowledge of Championship rugby. Spot on. Diskin needs to get his head in this league.

I didn't understand why nobody rushed Sykes at the drop goal? He was only 10 yards out and nobody twitched!  The Diskin experiment after two years is not bearing fruit, unless it's lemons judging by  the sour puckered expression on most Batley fans faces this afternoon. The worst thing is Dewsbury are rubbish but what does that make us!!!

Not sure if anyone has pointed it out, but Knowles kicked the one-pointer!

Legs, Dews, Legs.

So, no word on how 'the word' with the players went then.....it'll be business as usual, we'll put our trust in the coach and the guys'll have backed him. Just what will it take? Great name mentioned, ex player and coach with a history (take your pick which). Progress.

So you genuinely expected the chairman of our club to come on here and report on a meeting he was to have with the players about their performance and potentially their views on the coach? Especially after receiving personal abuse from members of this forum?

Absolutely right DD, but what people do need to see (very rapidly) are the results of any discussions held by Kevin, whether to the Coach, players,  or both.

??personal abuse.. i missed that bit dd,not really called for but some of us were at blackpool last time round when abuse from coach came fans direction.all this is 12 months too late for me to be honest.. how the hell can we atract quality players or keep the ones we want with this sort a setup coachwise. theres faces missing at the moment who were hardened fans for a lot a years,

No argument with that. Personal abuse was wrong when Diskin did it too. Also, agree with the difficulties of moving on. But did anyone honestly expect KN to rush on here with a report on his meeting?
