Sorry for not responding sooner Matt. What you mention is a regular mental struggle for me too; I often tend to push too hard as the instinct to fight when hurt tends to get the better of me. I've had to learn to slow down and ease back into things and not get too upset at comparing to where I was if I get re-injured, but I know there's an increased chance of that happening by not doing anything for longer periods. I may reduce speed, distance, intensity etc, but still get out whether it's walking or getting into the pool. By all means shoot me a message if you need to vent or anything, I'll do what I can to help.

I find that when I work out and it starts to get tough, I get fustrated. I realised that is bad self-talk, and I now remind myself that that is a good sign and means I am doing well. RidingPie 1,114 Report post Posted July 19 Still 99.5 although thats an improvement in that its the first time I haven't gain since I quit vaping... so I'm looking at the silver lining here, and I guess quiting vaping definitely belongs on a thread about health and fitness. Anyway -gulp- from here I'm on 2 weeks holiday so I won't be checking in next week and probably the week after because I'll be away from the sad step. Lets hope I don't put too much on!

Saint 1 1,530 Report post Posted July 19 Current exercise routine is gym Monday - Friday, rugby Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, fitness Tuesday, speed work Thursday and yoga every day. Still maintaining weight at 79kg or so but at probably upwards of 4000 calories a day! My resting heart rate is back in the 40s now which is good, but I'm having to be a bit cautious in terms of the conditioning volume due to being in rugby season. In the off-season I'd quite like to start properly running a bit more.

I had a bit of discomfort and so pulled back from a lot of things. But have now managed several short runs plus spent the last week cycling round Center Parcs. Yoga back on the radar next week. 1 Quote Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life. Bob8 4,862 Report post Posted July 22 (edited) I am not sure how I feel as using weight as a proxy for fitness, and certainly not as enjoying a healthier life. But...77.4kg. I have lost a few kg since starting this thread need a new black belt. I was not looking to lose weight, but that is about three kg lost. Were I boxing competively, I was told to be 12 stone (well, 168lb because USA) and I find I am almost at that. Mind you, I imagine I lost a bit of muscle in those three years. Bedford Roughyed 5,387 Report post Posted July 25 141.4. Had an indifferent 2 weeks and I'm happy its still in the 141's! Inconsistent diet, a few take aways, etc, etc. I could do with knocking off 4kgs (or more) in the next 3 weeks as I might have a job interview. I'll still be fat (!) but i'll feel a little more confident. I have a body weight workout to try, and the rower and bike at work will be getting used! 3 Quote With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Just Browny 6,667 Report post Posted August 4 Completed my first ever marathon today, in Chislehurst. Ouch. It was six laps of a very undulating course around the common. Pros were that it was off-road and almost entirely under the shade of trees, but cons were that it featured some brutal climbs and testing footing. Almost gave up at the halfway point, but reduced my speed and ambition to eventually get round in a shade under 5 and a half hours. Mo Farah can sleep easy - not sure I will. 3 4 Quote I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.
