Togetherness is a lovely story to build around. New branding is nice enough, though not a fan of the colours or the type used.

Purple gold red orange and white does seem a bit odd I suppose but oh well

Tonga and Italy in St Helens.

Thought that seemed odd, it would appear that St Helens and Liverpool are joint hosts of these.

Ireland, Wales, Scotland, Greece and Jamaica still to be announced and Leeds, Preston and Newcastle yet to be announced as hosts iirc.

As well as quite a few of the womens and wheelchair sides.

Lol forgot France, they're in Bolton!

Edit: this basically confirms England's schedule, Newcastle v Samoa, Bolton v France, Sheffield v Greece, QF Anfield, Semi Arsenal, Final Old Trafford

On a community front the RLWC organisation seems to be doing an excellent job, on the other hand though where are the sponsors the reality is their isn't any the entire tournament looks to be government funded which will end up even with good crowds as producing very little financial benefits.

I see a repeat of the 2013 tournament which was basically cheap tickets and sponsorships being sold for as little as £ 10K

I'm sure I've been seeing sponsorship announcements every so often.

I think they're building that from a small base and would be reliant on the IRL providing consistency for that level of sponsorship that comes with the FIFA world cup, champions league, ru world cup, Olympics etc.

Hopefully this world cup sets out not only a benchmark, but a framework of a successful tournament that can be transposed onto different nations

Quite a few partners announced, but at the moment they do appear to be more the logistical partners rather than Coca-cola advertising through the WC.

In 2013 we had a lot of new partners, none are with the game now, only Specsavers really stayed for a period.

A success here would be signing up quality sponsors well in advance (some were only announced on the launch day in 2013) and to retain them for future international tournaments.

In just the last couple of weeks I have seen these two announced:

We are delighted to announce that Kuehne+Nagel, one of the world’s leading logistics companies, has become the Official Logistics Partner of the tournament.

We are delighted to announce global sportswear brand, Kappa, as an official sponsor of the tournament.

With companies finances as they currently are with Covid, i would imagine some companies wouldn't be wanting to be seen sponsoring an event while having employees on furlough and then in a couple of weeks or months time have to make possible redundancies.

The advantage this time being that 2022 should see England have a series against Australia. Whilst I'd rather have a Four Nations back that's a pretty decent draw to retain some named sponsors.

Leeds hosts

Men: Jamaica and Ireland (woop woop)

Women: PNG, Canada, England and Brazil

Confirmation in the YEP that the facilities at the rhinos and the 2 universities will be key to this

Johnny Nelson's Twitter is a bit late to the ball here but it looks like he'll confirm Sheffield as Host to Greece Men and the rest of the wheelchair teams including the USA and Norway

We were up for pitching to do the branding work on this but the ridiculous timescales and the fact they wanted the work doing upfront before any selection process occured meant we pulled out as we felt our resources would have been stretched with a chance of no payment for the work.

But on the colours - they were stipulated to not be changed in the brief.

See above they were stipulated in the brief, probably because those colours have been   Used for a while.
