Match thread: Championship Rd12. Featherstone Rovers v Whitehaven. Saturday 21st May 2022.

Recommended Posts

We've almost reached the half way point in the league programme. The only clubs we haven't played yet are Newwcastle and Saturday's opp Whitehaven.

Haven took a whalloping at Widnes last weekend, and a couple of weeks back we whalloped Widnes. So we'll be strong favourites, but that kind of result extrapolation is a bit of nonsense anyway. We've got to go out there and do the business.

Of the XVII who beat Dewsbury, we're sure to be without Wildie, which is a blow. Other, unused members of last week's 20 man squad were Cuthbertson, Pickersgill and Kopczak. Presumably those three are all in the mix for a recall. Hepi made his debut and will be looking to make his mark.

We've heard Gill is getting back to fitness. Hopefully that's also true of Hardcastle and Gale.

But, inevitably though, the big talking point will be Ford. I imagine the coach will be keen to have a look at him.

Last chance for everyone to impress before the 21 and XVII are selected for the 1895 Final.

Think Ford is odds on to play some part in the game but maybe not the full 80 min.

If he makes the team only one solution S off the bench on the hour move morgan to 9  and let the fun begin🤣

Not sure Jones will play, I suspect playing Smith at hooker and give Ford the full game at stand off.

If any  hooker is available B you  play him first and let morgan fil in I don't wont morgan there for the full eighty

Play Connor this week. Start Ford so he can start to build a partnership with Jacks before the final. Give Smith the week off as he’ll be doing big minutes in the final.

To be fair P morgan plays big minutes every week

Ford is in the squad just named on Twitter. So are Wildie and Cuthbertson but whether they are fit to play might be another matter.

So It's same twenty man squad as last week plus ford

Would like to see better defending than last week and concede no more than one try each half.Expect Ford to play for 50/60 min and hope he settles into our structure.Fev by 28+ and fingers crossed no further injuries.
