And whilst it is excellent news that he has gone the fact that he has been suspended under investigation for the last 12 months and no outcome to that investigation has been achieved shows how woeful the HR department of the RFL is

Who says there was no outcome to the investigation?

let's hope this is the start of a clear out at the RFL.

The same people have been in the same positions for years overseeing the decline of the sport, starting at the 'not fit for purpose community board' community level, through to the professional game - absolute shambles from top to bottom

Rimmer surrounded by his sycophants, bereft of ideas and unable to take criticism of any kind which has seen countless volunteers walk away from the community game.

The sport needs to reinvent itself, new people, new ideas, new approach to managing the sport.

Let's hope this is the dawning of a new age for the sport, and Mr Ganson's departure is the first of many in the coming months!

I doubt we will see a clear-out, too many of the different departments cover up for each other,  and the community board is a complete joke, I've never had any consultation with them whilst i was involved in league management groups, unlike what they say in their meeting minutes.  I can honestly say that the RFL is not fit to run the amateur game, and have very little consultation with the leagues/clubs over anything. The rfl only pushed to get all the community clubs under their umbrella so they could become the games GB enabling them to be able to apply for funds from Sport England.  There is a couple of decent people at the rfl, but they will never be allowed to climb the ladder, as they are not YES MEN and have a clear vision of how the community game works.

Which your club was seemed happy enough with to apply for funds to build your £200k training barn.

My understanding was that Sport England (and its counterparts in the rest of the UK) wouldn't accept dealing with two different governng bodies.   So what you say is, to an extent, true yet, on the other hand, BARLA as it was wouldn't be able to get any Government funds for an amateur club.

But it was a long time ago and I may have misremembered.

I suspect that it’s the outcome that has lead to the “mutual” bit of this announcement, part of which is likely to be a withholding of what was decided from the public.

It's none of our business, I agree.

Each sport can only have one officially recognised national governing body. (I am massively simplifying but that's what it boils down to).

I'm not sure that's true for roles like this in the public eye. I'm not one for demanding to know everything, but it is very, very rare to not hear the outcome of a disciplinary hearing.

Even if there was no evidence or similar, you'd expect that to be part of the announcement and then go onto the fact they have agreed to part company.

To not mention that he has been suspended for the last 12m (IIRC) is bizarre and not really the kind of transparency that we should see from a governing body.

Publicly funded governing body.

I’d say we absolutely have the right to know.

I’m sure the RL journalists will be on it on our behalf.

Don't forget the gym, changing rooms, and the pitch plus floodlights, all before the barn. We have a great team at the club who have worked hard to get all the different grants for these projects, but at the end of the day, this is Sport England money that is put under the RFL umbrella for distribution, and it is Sport England who rubber stamp the funding for the project. But not all the funding has come from the RFL (Sport England).
