Aaron and Liam Moore are with the Wigan Referees’ Society, but Kevin is with the Castleford and Featherstone Society, so I am guessing he is unrelated to the other two. 1 Legs, Dews, Legs.

Blind side johnny Posted August 3, 2023 Posted August 3, 2023 So, other than fretting about the referee, how do folk think we will do? On league position we should win, maybe even comfortably. Workington are battling for a play-off place though so will be fired up, but they often aren't the best travellers. Will Sunday's result be a kick up the backside or will it have introduced doubts in our relatively young side? This is where Liam's coaching abilities, which we and others rate highly, should come to the fore. Sensible play, good game management, good ball control (no panicking!) and we should grind out a win. They have a very good centre in Sabutey so our backs will need to be on good spotting form. The fans have to be confident, so: Rams 28 - 16 Town FTS: O'Connor MoM: Butterworth Sport, amongst other things, is a dream-world offering escape from harsh reality and the disturbing prospect of change.
Wakefield Ram Posted August 3, 2023 Posted August 3, 2023 We need to start well and get ahead to settle the nerves. We are at home and think that will make the difference. Understand Ferguson may be back as well to add a bit of experience and composure to the pack.
Therein73 Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 As per an earlier post, I think we should be at he top of our game for this one and as long as we retain our composure and (more importantly) discipline then I reckon we'll be 'job done' by 5pm Sunday and back in the Championship......... Workington are never an 'easy' game but our best should be good enough. Rams 24 Town 10 If Restall plays as well as last week M-o-M should be his.... 1
Crown Flatter Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 After last week’s BIG letdown, we can only imagine how we will perform against Workington. Like us, I’m sure the players wanted to complete the season unbeaten, but it didn’t happen and now their heads might be down, wondering if they can still be champions. Here’s an idea of the line-up without knowing about any injuries: 1. Restall 2. Davey Dixon 3. O’Conmor 4. Greensmith 5. Whiteley 6. Sykes 7. Turner 8. Beckett 9. Butterworth 10. Maher 11. Davies 12. Graham 12. Collinson 14. Day 15. Ronan Dixon 16. Ferguson 17. Morris 18th man Walker We should be able to do it and my prediction is: Dewsbury 14-6 Workington Dewsbury 14-6 Workington Dewsbury 14-6 Workington FTS: Greensmith MoM: O’Connor Att: 703 Legs, Dews, Legs.
the old nine ole Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 I see Ferguson is back in the squad... could be the difference! We always play better when he is in the team! Also Andy Gabriel listed ... but so is Lewis Carr. 1

For me if Ferguson is fit as he can be, him in the place of Matt Garside, can't see Carr playing so Gabriel in for him. Wonder where Davey Dixon is?

Blind side johnny Posted August 6, 2023 Posted August 6, 2023 Serious delays on the M62 this morning. Let's hope that their team bus gets through in time, as well as their fans, of course. Crown Flatter Posted August 6, 2023 Posted August 6, 2023 I now have a sense of presentiment about today’s outcome given the number of away victories this weekend, both here and in Australia. Legs, Dews, Legs.

coolie Posted August 6, 2023 Posted August 6, 2023 Told ya so Well Done to everyone concerned NEVER I DOUBT Well from Blackpool it wasn't 2
Wakefield Ram Posted August 6, 2023 Posted August 6, 2023 Congratulations to all the players and staff. Well earned title and promotion. Credit to Workington who fought hard and we're hampered towards the end by injuries so the score didn't reflect how close the game was for over an hour. Good to see Gabriel back and once we got in front and Town started to tire and suffer injuries we played some good rugby and scored some good tries and the discipline was very good. 2
STEVE P Posted August 6, 2023 Posted August 6, 2023 Phew, that's us over the line then. Been away since the end of June, so had a few scary moments following Flashscore, not least the first time I looked this afternoon. Well done to everybody concerned. How great does it feel to have something to shout about.
creditwhereitsdews Posted August 6, 2023 Posted August 6, 2023 Well done to all at the club, on and off the field. Let's aim to stabilise in the Championship and grow – if our neighbours from across the valley can do it, so can we. 3
