Applegarth and Long leave Wakefield Trinity

Feel sorry for Mark who is a genuinely nice fella. I feel that he was used as a pawn at my hometown club. I know he did not have to accept the job and there were rumours about going behind Willie P back. However it would have been his dream job although I don’t know how he will handle the legacy part of it.

I suppose he will always remembered for that by some and he did not help himself in some ways for sticking with Proctor and a few others. It's an open secret Powell is the coach but could he, or Wane, or Peters, or whoever have done much better with the squad that he was given.

A good coach will always get extra out of their players, not saying applegarth didn’t but I’d hazard a guess those coaches above would of made you a better team.

I thought Mike Ford was going to do all the coaching at Oldham next season.

I’ve no idea only heard rumours long is their new coach. Heard it 2 month ago tbf. Heard koppy was Oldham bound at same time too. Heard we’ve signed some right players too but like I say they’re rumours until they’re announced you can’t believe them lol.

One of the advantages of a sloping pitch , it doesn't get flooded 😉

Everything has been thrown out except the kitchen sink....although I'm sure Trin could now arrange a DIY one of those too.

It takes wisdom to know when a discussion has run its course.

It takes reasonableness to end that discussion.

Suspect he will get an assistant job somewhere, similar to Last.

Like Last I think he was highly respected as an assistant and I doubt last season will have tarnished his reputation as an assistant, the cards were always stacked against him.  No doubt he learnt a bit from it too.
