I’ve done really well this year

A South Sydney hoodie

An England top and polo shirt

Thermal long johns and top as I’ll be coaching again next season

Autobiographies of Sinfield, Rob Burrow, Keith Senior, Jason Robinson and Billy Slater

The Halifax RLFC 150 year anniversary book

And my daughter, bless her, got me a personalised video message from Tommy Makinson 🤣😂 If you know me you’ll know he’s not exactly my favourite player, how we laughed 🤣😂

My lad ended up with a super read -  Hope and Glory - Rugby League in Thatchers Britain  by Anthony Broxton.

Not to be missed by anyone seeking to position our game within the wider political / social climate of those turbulent years.

I remember myself standing on the touchline monitoring a Challenge Cup game for BARLA  between Redhill and Greater Manchester Police at the height of the Miners strike ....makes the tag ' no pads no helmets ' a touch trite......

A superb read and I implore everyone in the game to read it…..there are some lessons in there that could be re-learned by the RFL too.

Pioneers of rugby league by sean fagan. Superb history of the split from Union in Australia. It was first published in 2005 under the title Rugby Rebellion then updated as ‘centenary edition’ in 2007.

Dont know if its out of print. The missus got it at a remainder bookstore.
