Surprised we only lost by 10. It will be a far bigger margin on Thursday unfortunately. 😞

Absolutely spot on.

Salford far better to watch and that was the poorest Leigh side that could be turned out.

Salford deserved the 2 but I suppose credit Leigh for not giving up and only losing by 10.

We are feeling through the unavailability because of injuries to key personnel the lack of attacking options, the opposition can soley concentrate on what they have to do without having to worry to much about defensive duties.

Hopefully Thursday will not get embarrassing.

Looks to me something beyond missing players. Too many tackles either being dropped off, or allowing an offload. Players rushing out of the line and some errors that you wouldn’t condone on a school field. None of the organised, determined defence of the last two years.

Sadly it was reminiscent of SL under Jukes, Duffy and Haggerty at times.

Well yes but that nucleus of the organised defence of the last two years is sitting in the stands, not only are they the better defenders in the club they are also the on field organisers, most of the time yesterday our on field pack of Nakabuwai, Davies, Norman, O'Donnell, Baxter and Trout with the exception of Kai resembled a Championship pack not one suited to SL.

But we can’t wait for Asiata and Amone to be back before we start defending properly, otherwise the season is over already.

Roll on 4th May, we might pick up our 2nd league win of the season. 🙂

Undoubtedly pleasing win, not just as it was over the seemingly emerging "derby" opponents (well not really but it will do) but mainly after that shellacking at KR last week.

It was charistically Sollyesque" was it not. Lots of of the "New Entertainers," and free flowing ball in hand, but the usual defensive liabilities and cardiac inducing jeopardy by the Mighty Reds.

First Vela is a good referee. Strengthens mine and others thoughts for our and NRL refs to have work placements on the opposite side of the world.

Second Solly crowds are already 5% up from last season, despite playing at some odd times.

Third it appears the Stadium deal is done, details to follow, most likely at the Club's AGM in May.

As for the Chinese, I presume they are the people behind some major skyscraper development in nearby Eccles. It is said half the deals in Ireland are said in the hospitality suits at Croke Park, so good to see City Mayor Paul Dennant accompany the new investors at the game.

This is the City. This is Salford. All are welcome.

A lot has been made of the players that Salford have sold, but MacDonald, Cust and Shorrocks were big signings for them, and Mellor a very shrewd one. Salford's backline was just too good for Leigh's, with Lafai / MacDonald being a mismatch for Chamberlain / Hardaker. The latter of which really played poorly. Shot out of the line to concede a try, and when he made a break, he may as well have thrown Hanley in touch himself. Was awful centre play.
