Great result today, and a very important one too given the results elsewhere, and our recent poor form. Thought our defence was brilliant at times

A game with little quality and a number of stupid errors but boy did we show some grit, great two points.

Tom walker was immense likewise was Silva. Costello defended marvellously on the edge where Johnston has been targeted in recent weeks.

Great result, Tom Walker was my man of the match, see Brad Walker still getting stick on the popular side for his lack of effort, daft short passes, never once he ran the ball in! Poor as always no idea!

Credit where it's due: His game management was perfect in the last 10 minutes after we got in front.

Lots of kicking to touch and forcing Sheffield to restart deep in their own half each time. Basic, sensible things to run the clock down.

Unfortunately, couldn't attend the game.

Great win, beating top team Sheffield by scoring one solitary try - only our 3rd try in 4 games.

Gives us hope going forward, but we have to improve our offence and score more tries.

I believe the attendance was a disappointing 1550.

Lowest of the season and probably to be expected due to recent results.

Least it's still nearly 5 times more than Whitehaven's last home game

What are the rules regarding a charge down, the Sheffield player who charged the ball down resulting in the try appeared to be way offside.

Quite rightly T Walker, Ramon and a few others have been highlighted for having superb games either on here or on FB, most surprisingly for me though is how Cressy hasn’t been mentioned at all as I thought he was  outstanding all game in attack and defence, I also like Matt Costello in the half back position as he gives us a good running threat.

Defence was solid today and on the odd occasion Sheffield broke the line the scramble defence was excellent. The forwards kept on top for most of the game. I thought Brad Walker got through a lot of work being the only true playmaker and managed the game well.

I think people tend not to notice Cressy having a good game as much as he’s consistently good every week, best full back since Broadbent

It must be pretty difficult to build confidence as a half back when select fans on the popular side throw heavy abuse when you make a mistake (which no doubt he can hear) yet don't give any praise when you do something good. It's absolutely embarrassing from 'supporters.' You'd have thought they backed the away team on the handicap and are trying to gain an advantage for them.

Brads kicking in the second half won us the game. There was 6 or 7 pin point kicks which meant Sheffield were constantly bringing the ball out of their own 20m line. A lead half backs job is to control the game which he did fine and gave us the 2 points.

I think the problem with Johnston and Walker together is they both are very similar. Having Costello with a real running threat is a better compliment. Walker and Johnston kick well and organize well but both halves not being a running threat does stifle our attack a bit.

Costello and Johnstone in the Halves with Walker at 13, walker can still kick from 13
