While I do believe that having a London based team for any sports league in the UK is optimal for many reasons, I also believe it shouldn't be called 'London' unless its the NHL/NFL/NRL whatever big international spectacle that is doing it.

Why not just renamed London Broncos to Broncos RLFC? Then it doesn't matter where in London they end up? People can still follow them?

If they are called London Broncos they can move anywhere in London anyway.

I disagree

It makes no sense at all to say rename from the London Broncos, and drop the London part, so it doesn't matter where in London they end up.

Exactly.

Dropping London to go to Wimbledon/Brentford/Ealing/West London Broncos would be geographically limiting and tie the club to a specific area, but at least that has some potential positives to it too. There's zero advantage in dropping London altogether unless the plan is to move out of Greater London?

A certain club in another code only added London to their name when they moved out of London…

How does having the London name mean they can't move all across London?

I am struggling to see your logic.

It's similar to the whole "We need London in SL,  but we also need to move them to Kent" that we hear from another poster.

which is your prerogative, but it does seem a touch odd.

Disagree that you think London is important in the name and debate the point fair enough, but your logic at this moment does seem a touch floored

While the league/IMG want the London name for marketing etc, which makes perfect sense, every league outside of soccer seems to want the iconic 'London' team/franchise. I just think if you name a team London over the actual area they are playing in it just doesn't look nor feel right?

Oh cool, LONDON Broncos they must be something... reality says otherwise and as somebody pointed out they have used the London name for how long now and nothing has come of it?

I will say though they have a nice name, image and their green/white/yellow jersey is simply the best in the league.

You aren't saying to name them after an area though, you are just saying call them Broncos which feels far worse.

If I won euro millions and bought the team I'd change the name to simply Broncos RLFC because that would work better currently than using London but being such a small operation in an already small sport, especially in the south UK.

I disagree and again see zero logic in that but there's little point in going round in circles.

By the way I do hope you win the Euromillions and back London, or indeed 'Broncos', to the hilt because they certainly need it.

I think you might want do some market research first to be honest.. you might be right, my gut is telling me you are wrong, but also there may actually be other, better options available..

In general I always think the London organisation has lacked genuine good market research and have done for some time.

As London Broncos it already doesn’t matter where in London they end up.

London was in Super League for 19 seasons in a row from 1996 to 2014.

Why wasn't that long enough to establish the foundations of a successful and sustainable top flight club.

How many years have Salford played in the top flight of Rugby League in this country ALL TOGETHER?
