We can beat the top teams but not the teams around us, to stand even a realistic chance now to stay up we have to beat Doncaster and Dewsbury and even that will proabably not be enough. We have lost to many games from a winning position, feel sorry for Fletch, he has put his heart into the club but the players haven't delivered

Far too early to condemn, a lot can happen with 5 games for all teams still to go

As a Doncaster fan nervously enjoying our first season in the Championship I have learned that, Wakefield and Dewsbury aside, no string of results is impossible in this division. No one in the bottom half is safe or condemned until that last game

I think the Swinton players should look at what happened at Dewsbury on Sunday, the magnificent effort from the 14-man Whitehaven team,

Combined with a capitulation by a demoralised Dewsbury team.

Sport, amongst other things, is a dream-world offering escape from harsh reality and the disturbing prospect of change.

Its doubtful we will get anything from Wakefield, Feathersone or Bradford so that leaves us Dewsbury and Doncaster. We have thrown away leads against Whitehaven twice, York from what we considered an impossible situaiton and were even up against Barrow at weekend and lost due to a stupid penalty. We did get a bland interview from the CEO last week that basically said I cant tell you anything but trust us. During that broadcast we also got told that the fact we didn't show the result at I think York away was unacceptable on twitter (X) but we didnt again last weekend and if you want the highlights from this weeks game you have to go searching for them on youtube yourself as there isn't a link on Twitter.

Smith's first try on Sunday seemed like it confused a lot of yours & Barrows players that it was awarded

I think its going to be really tough to escape relegation - as Mark has said the team has lost at least 6 matches where the team were leading and failed to close out the game, last week was the same - took the lead with two good tries, missed a kickable conversion, missed a tackle for Barrow to level then a clumsy challenge lost us the match.

I keep harping on team selection and the fact we haven't been the same team after Patton left - other teams are aware of Gibson and Hall and seem able to close down our attacking efforts most of the time.

We have a lot of talented players but have not been able to mould them into a consistent playing unit - we escaped relegation last season by the skin of our teeth so I hope we can do the same this time.

I think we need three wins and the teams around us to lose theirs.

If we do get relegated then I think a lot of the players will move onto pastures new.

Anyway, I am a pessimist so I can only be pleasantly surprised.

So after yesterday's match against Wakefield, I can only see one outcome and that's relegation.

Unfortunately, the club has not addressed the elephant in the room (so to speak) and that was replacing Patton - Hall as much of a fan of his I am he isn't a stand off half and Stevens is a young talent that hasn't been tried for more than the odd game.

While I appreciate the DRs from St Helens are emerging talents they have had little impact especially against a team like Wakefield.

To stay up we need to win three of the next four matches and hope that Barrow, Halifax and Whitehaven all lose matches - sadly on yesterday's performance I can't see the team winning another match.

But I would love to be proven wrong 🙂

The squad as a whole have proved to be of insufficient quality to hold their own in the Championship this season. A handful have shown they have what it takes but too many have not performed consistently well expecially in the forwards. Since the departure of Patton there has been an awful lack of creativity in attack. Shortage of money, injury woes, poor discipline and bad luck play a part but all the teams around the relegation battle can say exactly the same. Having said that there is still a chance of avoiding the drop even if it is through the play off route. Whitehaven have a tough run in to the end of the season as well as their well known problems and as Swinton have a far superior points difference they could be caught.

Fantastic win today - Stevens at stand off half so Hall was much more effective. Think the team were better than Featherstone in all departments to day.

Of course if we go down it will be with a record of beating all of the top 8 sides and in some cases doing the double !

I hope the same team turns up for Dewsbury next week and if we can also beat Doncaster we may just avoid 12th place.

You certainly didn't beat York and I'm pretty sure you didn't beat Wakefield!

You're bringing back bad memories from earlier this season Holmeknight🤦‍♂️

That victory came from nowhere, its amazing what happens when you play two half backs! Pack was outstanding to stand up against a pack the size of Featherstone, they seemed to only have one idea, which was to try and run over the top of us

Good result at Dewsbury - will miss both Rodden and Lapore for the Doncaster match as I assume they will both get at least a 1 match ban - depends on when the disciplinary hearing is of course.

Pleased that Stephens is now playing stand off as Hall is more effective as a loose forward. Would like Roby back in the side as well 😞

So if we can beat Doncaster and Barrow slip up at home against Widnes we could avoid the play off spot - this is me being optimistic - I can't see us winning at Bradford - although I didn't see us winning at Halifax last year either 🙂

Lets hope we beat Doncaster on Sunday.

With your owner offering £500 per player if they win the remaining games (including the last 2 games) I'd say you could win both games, nice to see they're putting that loan from the council to good use 🤣

After another sad day when the team weren't able to close out yet another  game, I now definitely believe we will be in the play off match probably against Keighley.

I think Championship is a much higher level than League 1 but anything can happen in a one of cup match.

I don't think we will win at Bradford and besides I can't see Widnes winning at Barrow - but I would love to be wrong.

See out the game? Pretty sure we were leading for most of that game, anyway i agree with you the standard is completely different to league 1 and think you will have too much for keighley.
