Please join us and give us a huge boost after the long trip to Portsmouth and potentially another if we can get past Dewsbury in the 1895 cup, all big demands on our finances.

Here's some information, ticket sales have started great since we launched at 8pm today, bring a mate, bring an old fan and get behind your club and watch the Super League stars of the Leigh Leopards!

I don't understand this decision, I see it as big chance missed to get a good amount of Leigh fans, Saturday afternoon would have seen a much bigger crowd in my opinion.

Do you think this decision was made by Leigh, or because the Jammers are playing on the Saturday?

I would hope the Jambo`s tie wont have had an y effect, it doesnt matter what they do, it has zero effect on our clubs decisions.

Either way, I just dont see why this decision has been made. It may be Leigh`s asked for it due to them playing the following Thursday (I think), I just think its a missed opportunity to get a big Leigh following up here.

It's a long way from Kendal on a Friday night. I'll have to think about it

What night was the international played at DP? That was a massive crowd.

In my opinion there is nothing wrong with this decision, Friday night under lights is terrific for atmosphere and a good crowd, Leigh fans will come in numbers, they have plenty of time to make arrangements and will be keen to see their new players for the first time. Just let’s hope the weather is kind but that applies to any day.

On the main site Leigh fans are saying this will impact on the numbers Leigh brings unforuntately.

I`m not sure this fixture will have the same pull, though obviously I could be wrong.....again 😅

I don't think you're wrong but how many people sad that was a stupid idea? Were you one of them? 😀

This looks like a situation where the club couldn't win. If Leigh were unavailable to play on the Sunday due to their game on Thursday against Wigan it obviously only left the Friday or the Saturday.

Whatever they chose there will be some people who will not be able to make it so would be unhappy. The Saturday would be better for me as I am going to miss the 1st half on the Friday but sure there would be some who would miss it if it was the Saturday so will be pleased with the decision. Cant please all the people all the time.

Absolutely not, I was fully behind those, but knew they were going to draw the local fans in much more than any travelling.

I heard we may have asked Leigh for some compensation as its their request to play on Friday.

Those Leigh fans who are interested enough will travel whatever day it’s on , and hopefully a few will come up however this game needs to be sold to the Cumbrian public from Carlisle down to millom and to me a Friday night game under the lights gives it something different to Saturday/ Sunday. The promotion of the game has started and has been very good so far, think people might be surprised at what sort of crowd does turn out

Exactly, I'm sure they will still bring plenty with them, let's face it, even if it's 400/500 it's more than any other away team has brought here in a good few years.

Promote it to the Cumbrian public as best we can and see how we go.

We get to keep the gate profits (minus expenses) so it's a win win situation 👍🏻

I think there’s every likelihood that Friday night probably wasn’t the clubs first choice. But given that the super league game is on the following Thursday and Wigan’s tie at Sheffield had already been arranged for Friday night, we probably didn’t have a great deal of say in it. If Leigh fans are wanting to travel I’m sure they’ll make the effort, but equally I think we need the local fans to buy into it as well. Hopefully the marketing of the game reaches fans who have maybe stopped attending and give it another go!
Given the club have had a weekend to pay for without any recompense and potentially another one to London with what I’m sure will be very little return, we need to make sure as many as possible get down to the ground. Here’s hoping to a good crowd, a good performance and the start of a successful year.UTT

It would be interesting to know where they did come from, that's likely why they want people to buy tickets in advance.

Brilliant gesture by the Leopards, and I expect it explains a lot to the critics of our BOD.

Let's get behind the club and get as many as we can down.

Might try and catch a Leopards game during the season too if I'm down that way. UTT.

I dont think anyone was criticising the BOD were they? I was just saying in my opinion it was mistake as we wouldnt get the travelling fans. I expect the Leigh owner has acknowledged that as seen by his very gracious offer.

I wasn't consciously aiming my comment at anyone in particular on here as I've also spoken to people about it and it surprised me, so no offence intended. But when I've re-read your post I have picked it up that you were critical of the boards decision to play the game on a Friday. You said you don't understand the decision ( made by the BOD) to play it on the Friday and see it as a big chance missed. I have no agenda in this, but that is honestly how I've read your post pal.

I prefer night games anyway so maybe that's why it surprised me when a few of my mates were twining about it being on a Friday. It's done now, I think it will be a great occasion and a good money spinner for the club.UTT
