As far as I'm aware only the Joe Royle Stand is open for rugby  (the one behind the big car park accessed from Broadway).

They open two stands, the Joe Royle stand and one behind a goal.

So where will you be sitting George? Joe Royle is the side stand and the Jimmy Frizzel is behind the goal?

Anyone know if the drummer and chanters will be behind the goal?

As will I… when I know where they are! 😂😂 I’m new to all this… so don’t even know if you can buy a ticket for any stand and move around to the stand you want. Last season was the first for going away with my son - and we didn’t play Oldham away… but I know what happens in most of the away grounds now. Went to all barring Widnes, Barrow and Toulouse. Going to the former and the latter this time around!

I love the sport and the Knights - growing up in the North East I hardly knew either existed… football and cricket were everything and I was conditioned accordingly - so Andy Atkinson’s books are really helping me know the history of the great club we have - as are you, Gav Wilson and all the contributors on here!

There's no segregation at Oldham. All RL fans are welcomed to sit in either of the two stands. Look forward to welcoming you all and for a good game.

I think @Skelton Knight was wondering where most/the vocal York fans will be choosing, rather than where York fans are able to buy tickets.

Probably not something you'll be able to help with! 😂

recieved the answer from the oldham forum , the 2 stands will be open and not segregated so where you purchase is irrelevant

Now been advised you must purchase for one stand , no movement between the two, , hopefully the clubs will help out here with clear information ☹️

This is really helpful George… I assumed this would be the case. Thank you mate!

So the question remains…where are the noisy fans going to be?

If my son and his cousin aren’t on the periphery of the noisey group there’ll be big problems for me!

If anyone has intel where - to quote my son - the bloke who leads the singing but loses his voice every week will be… answers on a postcard!

Have emailed Oldham rlfc to advise where visiting fans should congregate plus I'll ask on x , we'll get there in the end😉

It’s normally really simple. Just turn up, look (& listen) for the Knights fans and sit with them.

Just had a reply from Katie at Oldham rlfc , really helpful, suggest buying in Joe royal stand as Jimmy frizzle stand may not open , I hope that clears it for all visitors this season

I think it all boils down to how many fans you're bringing and the number of tickets already sold. The capacity of the joe royle stand is 2,300. I'm sure the two clubs are in communication and an announcement will be made shortly.

Interested to see one or two comments on the Oldham forum.

One thinks we could be knackered after 25 minutes.

Another thinks their pack might 'push them over the line'.

Perhaps a look at our late season games against Fev, Widnes and Wakey might prove enlightening....

All that being said, it should be a cracking game though Barrow were pretty woeful against them last week - no invention and no pace.

Some good match-ups though - Wildie/McShane. Drinkwater/Hingano. Wonder who we'll delegate to look after Sambou? Jessie Dee? Ollie Field? Dudson/Martin will be worth the admission money alone! Dean/Harris. Milner/Gannon.

Whoo-hoo!
