They were absolutely terrible at Oldham, worse performance ive seen for years

One of the reasons was a really lack lustre first 20 minutes.

Can't afford that again tomorrow.

How come Toulouse are playing on a Sunday afternoon? Have they lost their special dispensation that forced teams last year to play them on Saturday afternoons and suffer massive crowd losses?

Are the 'massive crowd losses' in the room with us now?

Can’t remember seeing so much sand on this pitch, it’s like Scarborough beach!
will be interesting to see how Levi goes on the wing, but I don’t suppose there was any other option.

That was a hard watch, I thought Toulouse were poor, the Knights defended better but there was no real attack until Cooke came on, the conditions didn’t help. I said before half time when we got the first penalty in front of the sticks that we should have taken a guaranteed two points and it came back to bite us. Dagger looked like he was carrying an injury Fitzy was obviously injured when he came off too. Why wasn’t Pembo brought on in place of Dagger in the last fifteen minutes when it was all to play for?
Santi put in a shift as always as did Teanby when he came on , the Toulouse coach, Houles, had obviously done his homework on Hingano. There was poor discipline, we were lucky not to have had at least two yellow cards for high tackles and even though the ref got some stick for missing what appeared to be a dropped ball when Toulouse scored and what appeared to everyone other than the ref a blatant Knock on in the Toulouse ten, you cannot blame him for this defeat. All that being said the game could have gone either way and a draw would have probably been a fair result, neither team did enough to earn the win nor were they so much worse to deserve to lose. It is going to be a long hard season , We still desperately  need a big forward with a good pair of hands, like last season.

Illness meant I had to listen, and it sounded fairly attritional, (not a reference to Hendo's summarising I may add) Waha has annoyed me is the game was actually available to watch on You Tube. Why didn't the club advertise this?? Another example of poor communication with the supporters!!!!

Clint actually told radio York that the knights were streaming live home games this season.

I know the conditions today didn't help to play open rugby, but thought it was a poor game through out, can't understand why Applegarth played Dee in the halves and not start with cooke or pembo alongside Ata .The try that the knights scored was forward by a mile and should have been chalked off, can't comment on the Toulouse try as wrong end of the ground and didn't help themselves in the last 5 minutes of the game with poor discipline and a drop ball which Toulouse took full advantage and won the game and again it's looking like a poor start to the campaign.

Two poor teams. French shaded it for me as the score suggests. Our try came off a knock on that wasn’t and the ball to Levi was a mile forward. Had the chance to go 7-0 up but didn’t try it. Defended well but overall Toulouse had more flair. We offered nothing in. Very disappointed

sometimes you have to take a step backwards to move forward

baffled at the lack of pembo today.

our last 5 mins was horrible to watch.

im sure the pitch will be improved no end by 3 days of union training on it this week.

Very poor game management , loads of unforced errors , discipline shocking , good job toulouse were so poor or we'd have been hammered.

Agree with all the comments here. Dee should never have started at half, he's our best forward, Cook should've played there from the start.

Horrendous conditions and our starting line up was tailored towards that but we tried to play passing rugby which led to error after error.

We really lack some go forward. I thought the only player that made any yards and was positive was Levi Edwards from the wing or was it from centre??There were times today where i didnt know who was playing what position and I think the players felt the same.

We got away with a lot of high tackles, our try was a forward pass and the game management was poor.

We really are a side that suits a hard track and a fast flowing game but once there's a bit of wind and rain we look lost.

I thought our defence was good and a massive improvement from last week but ultimately Toulouse were there for the taking today and we lost.

Seems the injuries are piling up again as well. Worrying but not critical....Yet.

Two poor teams today. It was a totally different Toulouse team from previous years so I fancied our chances.

Too many forced errors and the penalties killed us… I’m sure the first 3 sets we lost the ball.

We can safely say that playing Dee at half back didn’t work, but with the injuries we have plenty of players were out of position. Buchanan (centre/second row) and Edwards (centre) on the wing.

McShane, Martin and worked hard and Thompson Mr 100% as usual.

We joked last year about the amount of hookers and half backs we had last year but it shows how we miss the ones that left.

Hopefully, things will improve, but with the injuries we have to the starting 17 we don’t have the quality to replace them. I hope that doesn’t come across as negative to the rest of the squad.

Onto next week against Halifax!

City at home yesterday. And, straight from the horses mouth, so to speak, the Toulouse away game is still to be confirmed, either Friday or Saturday.

Hendo is summarising alongside Andy on RY this afternoon. Hope Andy manages to get a word in.

He was brilliant. Fantastic insight - listen back on BBC RY Schedules if you missed it.

The stream is a very new venture and today was a learning curve for all involved in it. It was advertised on social media from 1pm, Please, if you watched it live, or subsequently, let the club know what you thought of the stream and how it might be improved (sensible suggestions only - ie dont ask for 23 different camera angles or Brian Carney presenting). Cheers. By the way, I understand it is Championship games only so you need a ticket to watch next week's 1895 game!

I did ask Mash about the half back selection post-match, Interview on social media platforms - worth a listen.

Agree entirely Andy, I thought the pair of you complemented each other with the commentary and balanced comments.

Like many older supporters I don't use social media, so wouldn't know. I have watched the game now, and have to say it was well presented and will be a big asset to supporters who can't make the games.

Stuck at home not feeling great, so I watched the match feed on YouTube. Not a bad effort for a first go at all IMO. Looked a bit dodgy when first starting, but as soon as the teams came out, everything was fine. Andy's radio commentary (carried on the stream) synched perfectly with the action - it would have been pretty infuriating to hear Hendo's frequent bellows every time a big tackle went in from either side before you saw it 😆 Volume on the commentary was a bit low - but that might have been in anticipation of the summariser occasionally exploding........

Also - nice to see replays of incidents on the stream without missing any live action.

As for the match, agree with almost all posted on the thread. Defence turned up today, but game management v. poor at the end. Thought the ref was pretty lenient towards us, as I thought there were a few hits that looked late or high that went unpunished. We looked a better team with Sam Cook on the pitch IMO. Feel a bit sorry for Levi, as it was his knock-on that gifted field position for the winning drop goal - he had played well before that.
