I know player's should be picked on merit but surely holding a match at Craven park there must be one or two worthy of selection to try and boost ticket sales. The Robins academy  are unbeaten so far this season so must have some talent in the squad.

So no Rovers players picked even though they are played 4 won 4 and one of the matches is being held at Craven park.

I'm not familiar with a lot of current academy players; which Rovers player(s) do you think deserved to be selected?

I've only seen a one reserves game this year and not really familiar with most of the other teams academy player's so don't know who would be better than who.

But being 4 games unbeaten in the academy league surely there must be player's capable of representing Yorkshire even a s squad members to try attract some rovers fans to the match at Craven park.

Even Leeds who make up half the Yorkshire squad have lost a game this season to Bradford.

I'm not saying anyone is better than anyone else as not in a position to have that view.

Not correct, Leeds have played 3 and won 3 this season, including comprehensively beating Wigan

Sorry I thought they lost to Bradford  but that was the last  season my mistake.

Academy is meant to be U18s correct ?, there is a lot 2006 (U19) players in the squads. I’ve seen this before aswell, is it different In England to Australia? Are players born past a certain month in 2006 still classed U18?

It could be based on the academic year, so those born September 2006 onwards would be U18s

It has always been the 1st September as the age cut off point for all the age groups under 6 to under 19's, well over here in Lancashire it has, can't see there would be any difference elsewhere especially so when selecting for representative teams.

I suspected it was a 1st September cut off. As you say it's pretty standard here.

Based on what @NRLandSL says, it's different here to Australia - which is why it needed clarifying.

Yeah in Australia it's just based on years so 2007 is U18, 2006 U19 etc. Austin Daniel who is selected for Lancashire is born in June 2006 according to the Wigan website, not sure what's going on there.

That is why it has predominantly been lads older representing the Australian Schoolboys than their British opposites.

So does it only include 2007 or later born players in Aus?
Also for our KR fan the BIG CLUB Academies often have the older lads in the reserves, which can impact Academy results

Not sure I get you're question. But to play U18s in Australia you must born in 2007 or younger. Though we don't have many U18s comps/fixtures. SG Ball (NSW) and Mal Meninga cup (QLD) are U19, and then Harold Matthews (NSW) is U17 and Cyril Connell (QLD) Is U16 (Not sure why's it different for both states).

We have the state of origin U19s which is Aussie the equivalent to this.

Anyone know if Ewan Irwin is 2008 or 2007. If he debuts for Warrington soon he will be the first player born in 2007/08 to debut in the NRL/SL, and would've also debuted before anyone else born the year before him. Not sure if that has happened before.

Does anyone know whether you can attend these games or are they played behind closed doors and just streamed online. If you can attend, ticket prices?

Of particular interest to us at Wales RL with 3 Welsh eligible players on display: Fin Walker, Oliver Garmston & Robbie Brook.

All 3 have started the season well respectively featuring at academy and reserve team level.

That is a mistake on the Wigan website.

Correct.

I spoke recently with Robbie’s dad, he wore a Welsh jersey when we spoke - his grandad played for Wales. I suppose it’s all about what you define as Welsh/English/Scottish/Dutch in any case.

Nationality is a funny thing.

Players for Yorkshire unlucky to miss out imo are Alfie Leake - Bradford prop.

Jacob Algar - Giants prop

Elliott Middlemas -Hull FC winger

Logan Blacker - Giants fullback

Also not sure why Jayemm Oladipupo isn’t in Yorkshire squad after being in England squad last season.

Probably injured.
