Kenilworth Tiger Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 2010 Engage Super League Dream Team: Paul Wellens (St Helens); Pat Richards (Wigan), Matt King (Warrington), Keith Senior (Leeds), Ryan Hall (Leeds); Sam Tomkins (Wigan), Michael Dobson (Hull KR); James Graham (St Helens), J ames Roby (St Helens), Adrian Morley (Warrington), Ben Westwood (Warrington), Joel Tomkins (Wigan), Sean O'Loughlin (Wigan). Now then, it's a race between Sandie....and Fairburn....and the little man is in........yeees he's in. I, just like those Castleford supporters felt that the ball should have gone to David Plange but he put the bit betwen his teeth...and it was a try Kevin Ward - best player I have ever seen The real Mick Gledhill is what you see on here, a Bradford fan ........, but deep down knows that Bradford are just not good enough to challenge the likes of Leeds & St Helens.
getdownmonkeyman Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Little surprised to see Wellens and Dobson in there. As for the rest pertty much spot-on in my humble.
Terry Chimes Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 (edited) Why, oh why, does Keith Senior always make it into these ? He's not even the best centre at his own club. Edited September 6, 2010 by Terry Chimes
Wellsy4HullFC Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Paul Wellens, Keith Senior, Michael Dobson? Surprised Fitzgibbon didn't make it, but cannot argue too much with O'Loughlin as he's had a good year (and I'm usually one of his knockers).
scotthouston2008 Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 senior has been brilliant when i've seen him. maybe sam tomkins at 1 and danny mcguire in at 6?
Dave T Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Can't argue with much of the team, has Ryan Hall been that good again this year? Every time I've seen him he has looked average at best.

If it wasnt for injury i'd say amos roberts would have almost certainly been in ahead of him, amazing start to the season! rikki sheriffe anyone?

BD92 Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 I have told you for years that Wellens was a god and still you don't believe me. No pace. Turning circle of a bus. No positional sense. Never tackled by the first man. Always in support. Never a backward step taken. And do you listen ? eh ? do yer ? Do yer ###### and look who's selected as Dream Team Fullback. Tell yer all these young "johnny come latelys" will never measure up to him !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Adrian Morley for Man of Steel !!!! And so the future begins...
westhuller Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Tom Briscoe should have been in for tackle on Fox alone.
jackknife Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 sam tomkins at full back and rangi chase at stand off and swap senior for almost any centre IMO COME ON THE CORN CLASSY CAS 4EVA Go Go Go York City Knights!
Wolford6 Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Not one Bulls player? It's a conspiracy. If only Danny Sculthorpe had been fit. Under Scrutiny by the Right-On Thought Police
MrFussy Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Would've thought Chris Riley would be picked on the wing instead of Ryan Hall but I think they're all pretty good choices.

1976PMJwires Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Really? I didn't think he's been that good this year can't believe hall made the team.... Briscoe / Hicks / Reliy or Goulding..... Hicks for me
Just Browny Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Hall and Dobson are bizarre choices and you get the feeling they were thrown in desperately to cover up the dearth of talent in Yorkshire. However, Danny McGuire would have been a fair pick. I see Roby's still the darling of whoever it is who makes these decisions. MOS? I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.
hindle xiii Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 A wholly English pack, English players always seem to take the majority of the pack when the Dream Team rolls around. Good stuff. Now for the backs. I think half the team picks itself, whereas the other half is made from positions where no-one has excelled. Were Wellens/Dobson/Roby really the best full-back/scrum half/hooker this year? Probably, but no-one has stood out either.

However, Danny McGuire would have been a fair pick.I hadn't actually noticed that county divide. I don't think it indicates the dearth of talent, but just the Yorkshire teams haven't really excelled this season, a ropey Rhino side in fourth, and a chop and change Hull FC side never really being able to settle yet still find results. Huddersfield too have been a team of steady-eddies without having anyone worthy of Dream Team selection. The rest, including my side, pretty poor, Menzies maybe, but not enough. The only sure fire omissions in my eyes would be Ben Jones-Bishop and Tom Briscoe, but the former might've missed too much game time. Edited September 6, 2010 by hindle xiii
petero Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Hall and Dobson are bizarre choices and you get the feeling they were thrown in desperately to cover up the dearth of talent in Yorkshire. However, Danny McGuire would have been a fair pick. I see Roby's still the darling of whoever it is who makes these decisions. MOS? Hall lost credibility with me in last years 4Nations, out of his Leeds comfort zone he was exposed as a deplorable defender and being honest not much better in attack, that is excepting games V France. Dobson has not been at all good and I cannot imagine who has given him their support. But in Roby's case you are way out of order. He has been quite outstanding, certainly from my neutral point of view he has. Back after a mediocre last season to the form we got used to from him in the season prior to that and I for one would have no argument with him being named MoS this season.
goldcard Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Saw it on BBC website . They pointed out Morley has now been in the Dream Team in 3 different decades. It's also the first time brothers have both made it at once. Wires record breaking 10 match run: L 16-17 ; L 34-36 ; L 24-44 ; L 20-38 ; L 8-46; L 14-26 ; L 20-40 ; L 22-48 ; L 14-20 ; L 8-60. Thanks Jimmy. The Glamour Club. Apparently. Captain Morgan Trophy Holders.(I still think we have the British Coal 9's trophy hidden somewhere, too...) Ooooh, the Challenge Cup!!! Thank you Tony..... steef Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Been looking at the player stats on the SL website and Roby has outstanding stats, certainly the best hooker based purely on that basis. "surely they've got to try somthing different now, maybe the little chip over the top?2 http://www.flickr.com/photos/stufod/ http://www.facebook.com/pages/Stuarts-photography/156268557729980
