Methven Hornet
Just had an uncontrollable urge to play some New Seekers songs. Trojan
Vorrei Cantare Come Biagio Antonacci by Simone Cristicchi quirky but catchy. precdeded by Uptown Top Rankin by Althea & Donna. Also fairly quirky! Edited September 30, 2012 by Trojan “Few thought him even a starter. There were many who thought themselves smarter. But he ended PM, CH and OM. Futtocks
Latest haul from the second-hand shop: Dr John - In the right Place ELO - Out of the Blue Grace Jones - Nightclubbing Paul Simon - Rhythm of the Saints Richie Havens - On Stage Only listened to the Grace Jones album so far. Amazing production, great playing, some good songs, some not so hot. 'Feel up' especially, belongs in the latter category. Leeds Wire
The Dualers - Don't go ace that, thanks. on a similar track For those who like the ska-reggae thing, also check out Westbound Train and Bedouin Soundclash. Great tunes, very talented musicians. Edited October 3, 2012 by Leeds Wire
Leeds Wire
There's a band called River City Extension who have written some truly brilliant folk-rock-Americana type stuff. Instantly catchy tunes that often either build in crescendo style or fool you into thinking they are ballads but then rocking out. I think they might be as big as Wilco if they keep it up. http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=WRTA_pKjyis&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DWRTA_pKjyis&gl=GB

Futtocks
yep I spent about four hours going though my Tom Petty collection yesterday, have you heard the Tom Petty solo lp Wildflowers ? Its superb. I used to have 'Wildflowers' but don't any more. It may have been mislaid during a move or I might have given/lent it to someone. What I would recommend (if you haven't got it already) is the DVD/CD set 'Runnin' down a Dream'. A 2-DVD documentary, directed by Peter Bogdanovich, a live concert DVD and a CD of miscellaneous tracks (mainly alternate takes). Superb stuff. Futtocks
Just got a power supply upgrade for my DAC. It made quite a difference! Familiar music sounded more real, while unfamiliar details appeared in music I thought I knew pretty well. I foresee marathon listening sessions this weekend. Leeds Wire
I'm certain I just saw the brilliant Third World guitarist Stephen Cat Coore in the crowd at the cricket T20 semi.
