brooza
Crusaders RL to win by at least twenty points. But you have to feel for the Harlequins supporters who'll have to rush from work to make this game. Well, Assuming they finish work at 5, that gives them an hour to make a 3 hour journey (according to Google) Not gonna happen EDIT: And Wrexham based fans have exactly the same problem Edited August 2, 2010 by brooza Check out upcoming international fixtures and highlights of past matches at http://rlfixtures.weebly.com St Albans Centurions International Liaison Officer and former Medway Dragons Wheelchair RL player.Leeds Rhinos, St Albans Centurions y Griffons Madrid fan. gingerjon
They'll be lucky to have over 1,000 there but I'm sure it will be announced as that or higher. I, sadly, won't be there as I'll be at a sophisticated dinner party just outside Amersham. Crusaders by 40. Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. brooza
Why 6pm? Thats a mad time to kick off during the week. There's a theory on the Wrexham FC message board that they're doing it to keep the crowd low so they can say how it's not economically viable to play down south and get out of it Check out upcoming international fixtures and highlights of past matches at http://rlfixtures.weebly.com St Albans Centurions International Liaison Officer and former Medway Dragons Wheelchair RL player.Leeds Rhinos, St Albans Centurions y Griffons Madrid fan. ShotgunGold
I'll say Crusaders 32-10 Harlequins As for crowd, I dunno perhaps 750-1,000... it's really worrying how their crowds have "dropped off" Leeds 10,334 --- 29/01 Wigan 6,794 --- 21/02 Catalans 6,124 --- 19/03 Huddersfield 4,127 --- 25/04 Wigan 6,075 --- 22/05 Bradford 2,979 --- 13/06 Wakefield 2,837 --- 27/06 Warrington 5,197 --- 04/07 Castleford 1,495 --- 25/07 **NEATH** Salford 2,412 --- 01/08 AVE '10: 4,837 AVE '09: 3,668 I was going to suggest that it might be their "irregular" schedule but for five months they played one home game a month and managed great crowds! And now they've got lots of games together their gates are not as good. Nevertheless I think theres lots of potential in Wrexham and even though they won't get a 10,000 starter again I think the Crusaders RL will do things a little differently next season. They certainly don't want any sub-3,000 crowds. Anyway is this match on Sky?

I think its alarming that during the off season from the soccer not as many fans have turned out, I can only guess that the deals and freebies have dried up? Next year they will need a big opener at Wrexham with someone like Wigan or Wire. And I cant see any games in S Wales.

THE RED ROOSTER
Ah the Derby Game that was never to be with Quins fans making up a large number of the 3,009 crowd at Bridgend last Easter. Nowhere near that will be in attendance today, with the late shift to 6.00pm on a Friday. It reminds me of the Huddersfield-Sheffield merger where "Shudders" played a couple of games in Sheffield in the post-merger season with a sort of "if we must attitude" ditto the Cru who should remember they were awarded the Franchise for South Wales. When I was at Crusaders - Wigan earlier this season the crowd was at least 50% Wiganers and the Wrexham crowd struck me as less knowledgeable and less "rugby" oriented than the fans at Bridgend. So I am not surprised after the novelty has worn off that the core attendance appears to be shrinking. Its also noticable that the Soccer fans are begining to percieve the Cru as a drain on their club as can be evidenced on the Wrexham FC Red Passion website. This does illustrate the point why Quins never became Charlton RL or merged with Harlequins RUFC at the first sign of trouble the fans of the established partner blame the RL Club for their woes as was the case years back with Fulham RLFC. What about the match Rooster this is a prediction thread - well as Quins could not beat an egg at present, I predict a comfortable Cru win with scattered applause echoing round the Gnoll. If your in South Wales turn up for the lights are going out on Super League rugby being played in South Wales and the darkness may last for decades...
