Thinking of going back to Douglas Adams and Kurt Vonnegut as they make me laugh about how stupid the world is.

Does anyone have any recommendations along those lines?

For pointing out the worlds flaws and laughing to the point that a bit of wee comes out then look no further than any of Bill Brysons works.

Quite agree, absolutely love Bill Bryson. I would say the main thing I've taken away from his books is its not a good idea to buy a book on the history of murders on the appalachian trail when you are walking the appalachian trail..... And Americans drive to their next door neighbours house!

I've just started reading 'Just Boris' by Sonia Purnell.

Just watched a film about Thomas Wolfe so bought his novels.

I think they may be a replay of Ulysses.

Which has also reminded me of that brilliant short story at the end of the Dubliners.

I've been comparing the Kindle online conversion of files to ebooks with software called Calibre. I have a few PDFs, MOBIs and DOCs, which I can now email to my Kindle's inbox/library in a fully readable form.

Calibre has more options, some of which are confusing to a beginner, but it can transfer TOCs, metadata and cover images.

If not already watching it on Amazon Prime, Good Omens was the first book by Pratchett that I ever read, I then went out and started on the Discworld series.
