Halifax had a similar fixture list at the start of last year as Leigh and had no problem beating Leigh - explain that one

Leigh were poor and shown to have no Plan B in last year's Middke 8s

Leigh were poor last year, busted championship squad, Rowleys tactics & losing to Hull KR after being on fire for 40 minutes culminated in low confidence and ultimately we got what we deserved.

Challenge Cup run, league fixture backlog at the end of the regular rounds and so much media attention just added more pressure to lads who just don't normally have to deal with that on a weekly basis.

Hopefully we will go better this year but I still feel the gap to be too much.

Aye, it is amazing how quickly the train tickets to Leigh are snapped up. I always seem to manage to miss out.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

Pretty happy with the way Saints fixtures have come out.

 

Thursday 4th August - Warrington away
Friday 12th August- Catalans home
Friday 19th August - Wigan away
Friday 2nd September - Hull home
Friday 9th September - Castleford home
Sunday 18th September - Widnes away
Friday 23rd September - Wakefield home

 

We get the 4 toughest games out of the way first (good while we're in some good form) and then finish with teams 6-8

We get Wire the week after their cup SF (hopefully its a tough game that they expend a lot of energy)

If Wigan win this weekend we get a weakened Wigan team before the CC final

If Hull win then we get them the week after the CC final
