World Cup Final referee either Bentham, Checcin or Sutton

Bentham coming into the competition in pool game 3 and getting the Aussie QF and Checcin getting the opener and Sutton a QF means it is one of these 3 guys for the final pretty much nailed on for the WC Final. This means almost certainly there will be a non neutral referee if results go to form.

Perenara has been quietly pensioned off it seems. I didn't like Bentham doing the France v England game (and joking with England players) and it just didn't sit right Child jagging PNG today (even if some penalties were justified). I worked out that every single game in the World Cup could have had a neutral referee yet many haven't. In the end, Australia had an Australian ref for the England game and British refs the rest of the time. England get an Australian for the Australian game and British refs for all their other games. Are Australia cooling their heels and waiting to cash their chips in for the final? Or are British referees proving they are better?

Either way it just seems like an unnecessary issue. Perenara is from NZ and referees in the top league in the world every week. If he isn't rated at all why does he get those gigs?

Why have England had English referees 3 weeks running? It just seems as if organisers are trying to be deliberately and unnecessarily awkward.

I think England have had English refs and Australia Aussie refs is because their used to reffing their respective players. England all know Bentham and child and how they Ref games

Which is fair on PNG and Lebanon how?

Is that’s the logic than it’s shocking.

If Sutton is ref in the final, the opposition stand no chance

I think the bloke from Grozny is worse than Sutton, both bad Chechins " ball went backwards" ( by this he means player knocks on but behind his heel or dropped ball and bounced backwards)is an omen of doom if he is chosen to officiate in the final.

What's happened to Klein? I'm sure he was reffing NRL last season.

Klein is unofficially black balled after the 2008 WC final

Odds on Cecchin I’d say . He’s been the anointed one this year . Sutton has been good this comp as has Bentham . Their refs look like theyve  enjoyed the one ref system funnily enough . Seems to have been an eye opener to folk down there

Maybe. He did seem to enjoy Australia's immaculate discipline in the first game.

Child didn’t have one of his best games today.  Very confusing at times for the England players and I’d be happy with an Aussie ref.

So would I if and only if Australia was out before the final.

Typical. We haven't got to the final yet and are making excuses in case we lose.

Pretty sure if England get through to the final both games we will get refs that I don't want. The Semi we will get Bentham when it should be Checcin. Then in the final we will get an Aussie ref without a doubt.

Or feeling a little awkward if we win with a controversial last minute penalty given by Bentham?

Ricky Stuart certainly did when Ganson gave the penalty try and Klein reffed the final in 2008. He also seemed to forget that Klein was in fact an Australian just doing a work placement abroad.

"Bitter Kangaroos coach Ricky Stuart faces disciplinary action after being accused of abusing referee Ashley Klein and "physically and aggressively intimidating" him and a top England official as they were checking out of their hotel the day after New Zealand's shock win in the tournament final.

World Cup officials yesterday launched an investigation after receiving a formal complaint about the behaviour of Stuart, who is alleged to have repeatedly called Klein a "f---ing cheat" as he was preparing to depart for Brisbane Airport..."
