World Cup venues announcement

Good replacement venue and another example of the positive messaging the RLWC is employing very well.

Posted on the Thunders twitter account.

The North stand that is not mentioned in the Video (scoreboard end and currently uncovered standing) does have approved planning permission for a new stand with additional seating and hospitality suite. Not sure if this is to be built before the World Cup but would seem daft not to. Capacity with the new stand is supposed to be 11,730 as opposed to 10,000 now.

That seems like a good choice. I don't agree with those who say we should have Magic in Newcastle just to support the Thunder; international rugby in the city is a better reward for the inroads they are making up there, and a better vehicle for promoting the game further in the region.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

Saw this photo from the Bolton food and drink festival over the weekend. Don't know if this is run by the rlwc team or is part of the bids put in by the host venues but great to see they're spreading the word in the local community over 2 years out from the event. Hopefully we'll see more of this kind of thing across the host venue towns and cities in the coming months.

they'll need something played at the University of Bolton stadium as there isnt going to football on it very soon unless someone steps in!
