Jackie61 Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 Couldnt get to the game today, but disappointing result. Did we throw it away with penalties?
shrewsbury roughyed Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 Two penalties the difference. I was expecting a loss to be honest, from watching Doncaster earlier in the season. They have some hardened ex SL players, plus the young Poching from Wakefield who looked impressive against us in the friendly. Our natural fit at the moment is above (hopefully) the Raisers, Cornwall, Midlands etc and hanging on to the coat tails of Donny, Swinton and co, I feel. If we tighten up defence, gel better with planned moves and execution then hopefully we’ll move into the midst of this teams above us.
roughyed1064 Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 cant see us being top of table side , more like mid to lower end team, we seem to blow hot and cold from week to week.
moorside roughyed Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 For me the problem is with a new coach , largely new squad and with a short season with not that many games. It doesn't give the guys the opportunity to gel properly. But we still need to start winning. I think I noticed at the last home game the crowd numbers are thinning out. I can see a difficult season ahead. Hopefully we can start to improve and put together some winning displays.
Cw25 Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 Don't know much about the game. But the main thing, The result. Very disappointing. Not going well tbh.

FailsworthYed Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 In truth there wasn't much in it at all, we just conceded penalties at crucial points of the game and ultimately they got back into it. Defence was much better but I still feel our pack is a problem, we need to them breaking tackles

Didn't think the second penalty that Robinson kicked was a penalty, although, to be honest, the officials were letting a bit go both ways. www.donsstats.co.uk - Full results and player stats for Doncaster RLFC from 1951 to the current day.

shrewsbury roughyed Posted May 5, 2022 Posted May 5, 2022 33 missed tackles; 38 against Hunslet. Are they normal stats at this level, does anyone know? It looks poor to me. Until we tighten that up life will be very hard, I suspect.

Im confident that one player youve got down for tackle misses didnt miss and 2 players actually missed more than your stats suggest.
The Art of Hand and Foot Posted May 5, 2022 Posted May 5, 2022 Just watched the highlights on their RFL website. Thought we looked ok. Just got to watch the discipline. What stood out for me was the stadium. Honestly what's the point? It looked empty. Looked like there was no atmosphere. It's alright having a superleague stadium in the superleague, but that was embarrassing.
fiftiesremembered Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 League table going to look very embarrassing after this weekend
Anita Bath Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 Have faith you yeds…..hornets were in your position this time last year. And you are now the only Oldham team in a professional league as of today
