Bedford Roughyed Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!
The Art of Hand and Foot Posted May 13, 2022 Posted May 13, 2022 Excellent step forward. Hopefully, eventually, we can have a reserve team.
moorside roughyed Posted May 14, 2022 Posted May 14, 2022 Great stuff. Women's rugby league is really taking off.
roughyed1064 Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 bloody hell should this club pay more attention to the mens team before setting up another team, sport today seems to be more and more about the womens teams.

I can't see how a women's team is anything other than beneficial. It won't distract from the men's game and certainly won't divert funds. According to rugby_league.com there are funding opportunities to grow the game both in community and with the women's game. It will also allow full use of the hollinwood site.
OL14.yeds Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 More good work from the club off the field. Hopefully is a success. How it can be seen as a negative is beyond me.

The money available for women's and community to do the same? A lot more. It's a win win! tandle Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 the allotted funding from the rfl is i for community clubs only and is 1.4 million.there are 300 community clubs that can apply for a funding grant not a fortune for the clubs.
Curlywurly2 Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 Asked Tony Barrow, over 30 years ago, for help in setting up a Women's RL team. He immediately said no
sheddingswasus Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 For any one who has our book Watersheddings Memories, we included two photos of the previous womewns team early 80's. I will dig them out later and try and upload them. Some familiar faces on there!
