thats why it doesn’t matter so much . No one’s pointing out failings in RL for fun .  I’m sure your in agreement that with our sports product it should be vastly more popular than it is . People just want to see the game getting the support it deserves

It was a lighthearted post chill out

Would Groups of 3 , one less group game quarters semifinal final be a possible.

I don't think it's great only having two group games.

I'd rather we now look to strengthen some of the developing nations.

I think that’s the key, whatever people’s thoughts on this world cup it wasn’t a disaster and needs to be stuck with I don’t think changing the format helps, the plannshould be to get those developing nations more games and develop pathways

Nudging the structure is the shortcut, hence why its normally the route we take...

Absolute nonsense, incredible that you have managed to turn the NZ and Australians refusing to come into a failing of the RLWC. Its a monumentally moronic point of view.

It is a failing as the competition should have gone ahead, in comparison if say England and Germany refused to play soccer in Qatar would the world cup still have gone ahead? And its a fair comparison as a lot of the players play in the EPL

When Aus and NZ pulled out other southern hemisphere nations indicated they wouldnt come.

Lets play with your analogy, say 4 teams from the SH dont come to the RLWC21, thats 4 out of 16, thats 1/4 of all the teams.

So if we match that with the football World cup thats 8 out of 32, so Brazil, Germany, England, France, Spain, Holland, Argentina, Australia. Yep, I`m sure it would definitely have gone ahead.

Yet again we have to face the reality of a WC that does a very reasonable job of lifting our profile which then crashes on the rocks of indifference.

This also makes you wonder what the point is of IMG and though there may be those who don't see a connection there part of the RL problem is having to explain why that is.

Not sure I follow here. If it made a decent job of raising the games profile, how can it then crash on the rocks of indifference?

Let's be honest, most non RL people (who actually watched the tournament and enjoyed it) will now have forgotten about it. That's not our fault on here.

For me, it was the best ever. However, I'm quite old, which means that although I've been to a number of earlier World Cups, I can't remember them.😀

In truth, I think the organisers have done a good job, from what was in effect a standing start .

Sure, it wasn't perfect but it certainly wasn't as bad as some are claiming, and I've no intention of getting ulcers trying to rubbish it. That would be too Tragic by name Tragic by nature. I'll leave the paralysis by analysis to others.

Just hoping that the organisers build/improve/evolve the competition for 2025 and hoping that Wane is empowered to do the same.

I can only assume you are easily pleased bud because there were some shocking failings in this WC. Some positives don't mean they don't exist.

Simply dismissing it as moaning is a failure of duty of care for the game. It deserves better, regardless of whether you think people should just shut up.
