If someone told me in September 2021 that in less than 2 years Adrian Lam would not only have Leigh in the SL playoffs, but doing so with an attractive brand of attacking rugby I'd have called to get them sectioned under the mental health act.

I have noticed you have started replying to yourself on this topic so you still will have look at the mental health act .

Full credit has to go to Adrian Lam and Chris Chester. They've performed nothing short of a miracle building the best Leigh team and culture of the SL era in less than 18 months after picking up the pieces of an awful 2021. Yes there have been sizeable funds made available by DB, but plenty of teams have thrown money to no avail in the past(including Leigh 2015-2018).

This is all true but they must have been surprised and delighted to find how mediocre (and downright poor) the bottom teams have been.

"I am the avenging angel; I come with wings unfurled, I come with claws extended from halfway round the world. I am the God Almighty, I am the howling wind. I care not for your family; I care not for your kin. I come in search of terror, though terror is my own; I come in search of vengeance for crimes and crimes unknown. I care not for your children, I care not for your wives, I care not for your country, I care not for your lives." - (c) Jim Boyes - "The Avenging Angel"

Still surprises me how Wigan fans have nothing positive to say about Adrian Lam, he was absolutely hammered by their fans for their attack when he was in charge at Wigan.

Based on the evidence of him in charge at Leigh and the style of rugby played you’d have to say it wasn’t all him at Wigan, having French & Field injured and club wrecker Jackson Hastings misfiring on the pitch and no forwards really hampered him.

This isn't a dig at Matt Peet I think he’s a great young coach.

I didn’t think Leigh would go down this season but they have even surprised me. They have been fantastic, Josh Charnley has been a top signing, it must be great to be a Leigh fan at the moment.
My bets i put on are abysmal but i am going to put an each way bet on Leigh to win the Challenge Cup. Sorry Leigh fans.

Now you've gone and done it Josef🙄

But get over Wakey first - they must be hurting so bad - and a favourable draw and ..............

Think both teams don’t want the win next week - Wakey focus on league and we will rest the key lads for the play off push to come

Think you may find Derek wants to be walking out at Wembley (or wherever), your right that we should be resting key players but don’t expect us to

Leigh won at a canter, but didn't play all that well, doesn't bode well for the Giants.

Yes, quite a poor quality game all in all, but Leigh had no need to play any better against a really lacklustre Giants team.

Sport, amongst other things, is a dream-world offering escape from harsh reality and the disturbing prospect of change.

Ok as he always does, problem is he isn't one for the future and is part of a very poorly performing team.

And part of a very fragile right side defence.

Why on earth Huddersfield let Ricky Leutele  go I’ll never know, may not be a prolific scorer but strong as an ox, sound defensively and big part in why Charnley scores so many.

We didn't let him go, we desperately tried to keep him, unfortunately for us Leigh's money spoke the loudest.

Big, big miss for us!

You could only spend so much and decided to spread it around, it's not that Hudds couldn't afford to match Leigh's offer their stratergy was so much different.

True, the salary we offered meant we couldn't improve the squad as much, it seems that Ricky's wages have covered 2/3 squad players rather than a quality replacement.

But which is the correct way?

At the moment our relatively small squad has served us well with most renaming pretty healthy, it has always been my worry as a Leigh fan that our squad is to small this season should we get a few injuries and disciplinary decisions against us, in 2017 we started quite well but then the players started dropping like flies, we actually used 37 different players that season, and still managed to finish 11th.

The club has hinted that new blood is coming in is imminent, it would be a shame to wait to long and let this form we have been showing lapse because of player shortfalls.

PS, since writing this I have just watched Mr Lams press conference from last evening and on the question of new signings he said there are some pencilled in FOR NEXT SEASON BUT NOT THIS, I hope that it doesn't backfire.

It's the way the head coach decided to go, however, Leutele is a huge miss in the 2023 Giants.

As is Danny Levi, neither have been replaced by anyone near their quality.

I think Levi is the biggest miss for Huddersfield, Peats is very average in comparison and is a steady 9 with no real dynamism to make an impact.
