York next up

We can't afford a loss regardless of what we may or may not do against Newcastle. Halifax have 4 points nailed on v Keighley and Swinton, we need 4 points to stay ahead of them. It's so simple, defeat puts us 7th. May not actually be a bad thing as it's further games/game which these lads have to get up for. As CL says we've only used 26 players almost season, we're now down to naming a 21 game squad which always includes 2, sometimes 3 who have no chance of playing, so the same 17/18 are carrying the club week in werk out. We could be without 2 of those this week so where are the players to replace them or take us into play-off games?

halifax should have 4 pts nailed on , but Swinton have shocked a few teams already this season so dont rule them out not beating Halifax

Flynn banned 2 games, stupid thing to do, but might not start until Newcastle. Bonus....

Doesn't kick in til after the York game. But still light in the middles, so will struggle for size and impact on Monday. The selected big lads will have to do big minutes.

Agree XL it'll be tough especially with Double P back. The one thing in our favour MAY be that York have nothing to play for so if we can do step it up from the start we might pull it off. Keegan might make his swansong with some oomph.

Keegan won’t play - he’s not been anywhere

Just looked at the table again, York can in fact catch us by winning 2, anyone know who their last game is? They are  , -14, we're -26 so we could need a 40+ over Newcastle, but that might not be any good if Halifax win 2. So many permutations....

Keighley have had players withdrawn by parent clubs this week. As far as I see it we have to win both games; Monday is a 4 pointer, 2 for us, 2 York can't get and we finish at worst 6th. If they win and Halifax win 2,  could be 8th.

We had 2 recalled by Leeds but only one of those was getting any game time. Not ideal for us but don't think it'll make the difference between us winning or losing.

Bulls have 2 hard games, Eagles away and London away, they could lose both.

All ifs and buts gentlemen! All batley can do is focus on what they have yo do regardless of what other teams do! Browny, kibula, Leaky out, reilly 50/50 for Monday so it's going to be tough!

Agreed. Hopefully Ben K is available for Monday. Could be a game for different tactics and throw the ball around and get it out wide, from edge to edge moving Yorks pack around to tire them out. Using all 3 ball players on the pitch at the same time to get width, Josh W and Jimmy at halfs with Ben W at 13 would do that job. Also, keep the big lads in the middle fresh by using outside backs to do even more of that hard work out of yardage.

He hasn't been first choice out on loan, akin to us having Luke Hooley and putting him on the bench. No point in recall if he's there just to make the 21st name on the squad list.

We will see, having asked for people to be brought in, when they do your still not happy he is still ours so take a chance and play him, basically our season ended with that run of losses.
