We know what impact licensing had on the Championship last time. Crowds and interest went down notably.

The idea that clubs in that division for 3 years in a row could ever gather together the metrics to get put back into the top flight under the spreadsheet rules as currently laid out is fanciful.

Ok. Go ahead then. Cut your nose off to spite your face. Join the trusty band of followers who say they've done with the game......but in reality haven't.

I suppose to be able to walk away you've got to attend in the first place.

Just because you think everyone hates you doesn't mean they don't.

From the BBC Sport website,

"Sutton stressed the grading announcement was not final, and that everyone involved in the process needs to take on board what they have learned up to this point.etc...etc...

What we aimed to do with this illustrative year was to allow people to get used to it, as well as ourselves, and we could learn a lot from the process - but also the timing of how and when we do things," Sutton continued.

"As we should do with any big project we undertake, we need to learn from it, and the review is already under way. We'll report that back to our council in December and talk about how we do it next year when it's for real."

True , but for the minority ( the ones at the top usually , Leigh Wakey,Cas Bulls,Fev,Widnes ) it will be catastrophic, and that will have a knock on affect lower down , take the top 4 clubs out of SL and would the rest be better ?

No reason for it to be catastrophic if the clubs are properly run. Indeed several of those clubs have hit the buffers of their own accord anyway. There's two or three clubs who will have to become used to playing long term in another competition than Superleague - Fev and Widnes is my guess - for every other club below SL it was never a realistic goal anyway.

Or they support a lower tier club , this will kill them all

It really won't, that's hysterical. There's about three clubs below Superleague that have a (distant) history in the top flight in the modern era that will have to evolve to not being in the flagship competition. Widnes and Fev most likely.

The rest were never getting there even with P&R and playing to win a semi-pro RFL Championship centred round the heartlands is where they should be.

Seeing your hard earned fan base dwindle , and your finances with it will be catastrophic , which will then in turn reduce interest at the other clubs

Which could also happen with normal relegation.

I'm not talking about just the removed club , I'm talking about the ( some former SL ) bigger clubs in the Championship who aspired to regain a top tier place , which will be essentially completely removed by this system

It's only catestrophic if you don't adjust your spending to your income.

So a spiral of less fans , less money , less interest , less fans , less money , less interest

So they'll be reviewed ' mid season ' then final assessments for the following season 🤔

So we'll get another ' table ' next summer , by then the relevant clubs can look how they can ' fiddle ' the final books

But will they be able to sign anybody ?

Can just see the coaches team talk next year

”Come on lads, its a big game today, a real 0.14 pointer with them being just below us.  Win today and another 0.011 points next week and we should be safe”

I can see it now all the geeks who believe in this system will be sitting  nodding their heads in agreement at that thought.

So now three clubs (that we know of) received the wrong score. Possibly more to come.

Looks like the legal profession will have another source of income this time next year.

Or IMG will realise that their system which has convinced a few., only a week after its presentation is flawed already, how much more will come of it time will tell, might be better if they packed in now before their reputation gets really tarnished.
